AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING
PARAGRAPH (35) OF PARAGRAPH A OF SUBSECTION 2 OF SECTION 1430
OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 7344 OF THE CITY, REQUIRING ANGLE PARKING
OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE WEST HALF OF WASHINGTON STREET
BETWEEN HIGH AND MC-CARTY STREET, AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE
PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Repeal Clause. Paragraph 35 of Paragraph A of Subsection
2 of Section 1.430 of Ordinance Number 7344 of the City rdigulat.ing the
parking of vehicles on the West half of Washington Street between High
and McCarty be, and the same is hereby repealed.
Section 2. Parking Prohibited. The operator of a motor vehicle
intending to park same at any point on the west half of Washington Street
between High Street and McCarty Street shall park the vehicle as follows:
(a) Any vehicle parked between High Street and the public alley
known as Wall Street which extends parallel to High Street and lies mid-
way between High Street and McCarty Street shall be parked so that the
right side of the vehicle shall form a 30 degree angle with the curb with
the front wheels of the vehicle at the curb.
(b) Any vehicle parked between Wall Street and McCarty Street
shall be parked with the right side of said vehicle parallel to, and within
one foot of, the curb.
Section 3. Presumption to Apply. In any prosecution for a violation
of Section 2 of this ordinance, proof that the vehicle described in the
complaint was parked in violation of any provision of Section 2, together
with proof that the defendant named in the complaint was at the time of
the parking the owner of the vehicle, shall then constitute in evidence a
prima facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the person who
parked the vehicle at the point where, and for the time during which, such
violation occurred.

Section 9. Penalty. Any parson violating any of the terms of this
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof, shall be fined not more than $100.00 or be imprisoned not longer
than 90 days, or be punished by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section S. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be
