AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, ESTABLISHING A LOADING ZONE IN THE CITY, REGULATING THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES THEREIN, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Loading 'Lone. The operator of a vehicle shall not park the same on the west half of Lafayette Street at any place between two points located 40 feet and 57 feet south of the south curb of State Street, except to load or unload goods, wares and merchandise at The Salvation Army. Section z. Presumption to Apply. In any prosecution for a violation Aft of Section 1 of this ordinance, proof that the vehicle described in the complaint was parked in violation of Section 1, together with proof that the defendant named in the complaint was at the time of the parking the owner of the vehicle, shall then constitute in evidence a prima facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the person who parked the vehicle at the point where, and for the time during which, such violation occurred. Section 3. Penalty. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than $100.00 or be imprisoned not longer than 90 days, or be punished by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval. Passed; �� Approved: P esident of Council Mayor Attest: City Clerk
