HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD07777 BILL NO. 5 INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN: Stone a I401AKe ORDINANCE NO. 77 7.7 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGUTATING THE OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THIS CITY AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Stop Sign. The driver of a vehicle on Havana Street shall bring the vehicle to a full and complete stop immediately before entering the intersection of Havana Street with Main Street and thereafter proceed cautiously, yielding the right of way to any pedestrian crossing a roadway at the said intersection within any marked or unmarked crosswalk, or to any vehicle not required to stop, which is either in the intersection or approaching so closely thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard. Section 2. Penalty, Any person violating the provisions of Section 1 hereof shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not more than $100. 00 or be imprisoned not longer than 90 days or be punished by both such fine and imprisonment.
