AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THIS CITY, PRESCRIBING
A PRESUMPTION AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Parking Prohibited. The operator of a vehicle shall
not park the same at any place on the West half of Washington Street lying
between two points located 208 feet and 220 feet south of the south curb of
High Street.
Section 2. Presumption to apply. In any prosecution for a violation
of Section 1, proof that the vehicle described in the complaint was parked
in violation of Section 1, together with proof that the defendant named in the
complaint was at the time of such parking the owner of the vehicle, shall
constitute in evidence a prima facie presumption that the owner of the
vehicle was the person who parked the vehicle at the point where, and for
the time during which, such violation occurred.
Section 3. Penalty_ A person violating this ordinance shall be
' deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined
not more than $100. 00 or be imprisoned in jail for not more than 90 days, or
be punished both by such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. Repeal Clause. Ordinance Number 7741 of the city,
relating to the same subject be, and the same is hereby, repealed.
Section S. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and approval.
