ORDINANCE NO. -7 -2L
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI ., AMENDING ORDINANCE
NUMBER 7203 OF THE CITY, KNOWN AS THE PLUMBING CODE, BY REPEALING
SECTION 3.17.1 RELATING TO PRIVATE SEWER LATERALS AND WATER SERVICE
PIPING, AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION 3.17.1 RELATING TO THE SAME
SUBJECT MATTER.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLIO-dS:
Section 1. Section 3.17.1 of Ordinance Number 7203 of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, known as the Plumbing Code, be and
the same is hereby repealed.
Section 2. There is hereby enacted a new provision of
Ordinance Number 7203 of the City, known as the Plumbing Code,
to be known as Section 3.17.1 of said Plumbing Code, which
shall read in words and figures as follows:
"3.17.1 Sewers and water service piping shall be
installed below the recorded frost penetration
and, except as hereinafter provided, sanitary
?` sewer laterals shall be placed at least two (2)
feet' below ground surface and water piping shall
be at least 2 and 1/2 feet below ground surface;
provided however, in the event unusual topographical
conditions exist or other unusual conditions are
encountered in excavating for private sanitary
sewer laterals to the depth prescribed above, a
private sanitary sewer lateral may be constructed
at a lesser depth, or if warranted, above the
ground surface with such materials and in such
manner as shall be approved in writing in advance
by the Plumbing Inspector."
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
