AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING
ORDINANCE NUMBER 7428 OF SAID CITY ESTABLISHING CERTAIN TAXICAB
STANDS LOADING ZONES WITHIN SAID CITY AND REGULATING THE PARKING
THEREIN, PRESCRIBING A PRESUMPTION AND PROVIDING A PENALTY, AND
ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance Number 7428 of the City of Jefferson, Missouri,
establishing certain taxicab stands within said city, and regulating the
parking of vehicles therein , prescribing a presumption and providing a
penalty be, and the same is hereby repealed.
Section 2. Taxicab Stands. The areas designated herein arel hereby
established as taxicab stands:
(a) Governor Hotel., The west half of Madison Street between two
points located 30 feet and 66 feet north of the north curb of Capital Avenue.
(b) Missouri Hotel. The south half of High Street between two
points located 21 feet and 61 feet east of the east curb of Adams Street.
(c) City Cab Company. The west half of Madison Street between
two points located 190 feet and 210 feet north of the north curb of High Street.
(d) Missouri Pacific Railroad Depot. The north shoulder of State
Street between two points located 37 feet and 146 feet west of the extended
west curb of State Street.
Section 3. Taxicab Loading Zone. The area on the north half of
State Street between the west curb of Monroe Street and a point located 25
feet west of the west curb of State Street is hereby established as a taxicab
loading zone at the Missouri Pacific Railroad Depot.
Section 4. The operator of a vehicle, other than a taxicab, shall
not park or stand the same within any taxicab stand or taxicab loading zone.

Section 5. The operator of a taxicab, other than a taxicab of the
City Cab Company, shall not park the same in the taxicab stand described in
Paragraph (c) of Section 2 hereof.
Section 6. The operator of a taxicab shall occupy the same at all
times while it is parked within any taxicab stand or any taxicab loading zone.
Section 7. Only one taxicab of any taxicab company shall be parked
at the same time within any taxicab stand.
Section 8. The operator of a taxicab shall not park the same at any
time within any parking meter space on any roadway.
Section 9. Presumption to Apply. In any prosecution for a violation
of any of the provisions of this ordinance, proof that the vehicle described
in the complaint was parked in violation of a provision of this ordinance,
together with proof that the defendant named in the complaint was at the time
of the parking the owner of the vehicle, shall then constitute in evidence a
prima facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the person who
parked the vehicle at the point where, and for the time during which, such
violation occurred.
Section 10. Penalty. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon con-
viction thereof, shall be fined not more than $100. 00 or be imprisoned not
longer than 90 days, or be punished by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 11. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and
be in force from and after its passage and approval.
