AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF H)TOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THIS CITY, AND
PRESCRIBING A PRESUMPTION FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, AND PROVIDING
A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section I. Parking Prohibited. It shall be unlawful for the
operator of a motor vehicle to park the same at any point on the
south half of Capitol Avenue between the intersection of Capitol
Avenue with Street and the intersection of Capitol Avenue
with Pine Street.
Section 2. Presumption to Apply. In any prosecution for a
violation of Section 1 of this ordinance, proof that the vehicle
described in the complaint was parked in violation of Section 1,
together with proof that the defendant named in the complaint was
at the time of the parking the owner of the vehicle, shall then
constitute in evidence a prima facie presumption that the owner of
the vehicle was the person who parked same at the point where, and
for the time during which, such violation occurred.
Section 3. Penalty. Any person convicted of a violation of
the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor and be fined not more than $100.00 or be imprisoned
not longer than 90 days, or be punished by both such fine and
imprisonment.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall tale' effect
and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
