AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON VARIOUS ROADWAYS IN THE CITY, AND
PROVIDING A PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1. Speed Limit. The operator of a motor vehicle
shall not operate the same at a speed in excessof 20 miles per
hour at any place within the designated segments of the following
named streets:
(a) Lafayette Street between its intersections
with Dunklin Street and Miller Street.
(b) Chestnut Street between its intersections
with Dunklin Street and Elm Street.
(c) Elm Street between its intersections with
Cherry Street and Locust Street.
(d) Miller Street between its intersections with
Chestnut Street and Locust Street.
Section 2. Penalty. Anyone convicted of a violation of any
of the provisions of Section 1 of this ordinance shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor and be fined not more than $100,00 or be
imprisoned in jail for not longer than 90 days, or be punished by
oth such fine and imprisonment.
Section 3. dal Clause. Section 1.030 of Ordinance Number
344 of the City of Jefferson, regulating the speed of motor
vehicles on the roadways of this city, be, and the same is hereby
epealed only to the extent that such Section 1.030 is in conflict
with the provisions of Section 1 of this ordinance.
Section 4. Effective Date: This ordinance shall take effect
nd be in force from and after its passage and approval.
