AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REQUIRING
OPERATORS AND PASSENGERS ON MOTORCYCLES, MOTOR SCOOTERS OR
MOTOR BIKES TO WEAR APPROVED SAFETY HELMETS, PROVIDING CERTAIN
DUTIES FOR PERSONS, FIRMS OR CORPORATIONS RENTING OR LENDING
SAID VEHICLES, PROVIDING THAT THE OPERATORS OF SAME SH ALL
POSSESS A VALID STATE OPERATOR'S LICENSE, AND PROVIDING A
PENALTY FOR VIOLATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate,
or ride as a passenger on, any motorcycle, motor scooter or
motor bike upon any public street, alley, or other thoroughfare
or in any public park within the city unless such person is
wearing a type of safety helmet approved by the City Marshall.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful for anyone to rent, lease
or lend any motorcycle, motor scotter or motor bike to any
person without first ascertaining that such person or passenger
is equipped with a type of safety helmet approved by the City
Marshall.

Section 4. Anyone violating any of the terms of this
ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon

Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
