AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
DISCONTINUING FOR PUBLIC USE CERTAIN RIGHTS OF WAY FOR PUBLIC
STREETS AND ALLEYS, AND RESERVING TO THE CITY WHERE NECESSARY
EASEMENTS FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF SEWERS AND SEWER
FACILITIES AND THE FACILITIES OF PUBLIC UTILITIES IN THE CITY,
AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CLERI: OF THE CITY
TO EXECUTE ANY INSTRUMENT REQUIRED TO CONFIRM IN THE ABUTTING
PROPERTY OWNERS THEIR REVERSIONARY RIGHTS IN THE VACATED AREAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Subject to the provisions of Section 2 hereof,
the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, hereby
declares that it is necessary and in the public interest that
the following lands be discontinued for public use as streets
and alleys within the city:
(A) Locust Street between the southwest corner of Lot
16, East Elm Addition. as per plat of record in
Plat Book 1 at Page 51, Cole County Recorder' s
Office, and the southerly right of way line of the
Rex Whitton Expressway (U.S. Highways 50 & 63) .
(B) All of the north-south alley in Roer' s Subdivision
of the northwest quarter of Outlot 34, as per plat
of record in Plat Book 1 at Page 61, Cole County
Recorder' s Office.
(C) Part of the east--west alley between Elm Street and
Dunklin Street bounded on the north by Lot 3 and
on the south by Lot 2 of Roer's Subdivision, as per
plat of record in Plat Book 1-, at Page 61, Cole
County Recorder' s Office.
(D) Cherry Street for a distance of 198. 75 feet south
from the southerly right of way line of Elm Street.
(E) The northerly 20 feet of Elm Street from the easterly
right of way line of Lafayette Street to the westerly
right of way line of Cherry Street.
(F) That part of the east-west alley between Dunklin Street
and Elm Street that is bounded on the north by Inlots
859 and 860 and on the south by Inlots 863 and 864.
(G) Elm Street from the westerly right of way line of
Lafayette Street to the westerly right of way line
of Marshall Street.

(H) That part of an east-west alley extending westerly
From the westerly right of way line of Lafayette
Street bounded on the north by Inlots 852 , 853 and
854 and on the south by Inlots 856, 857 and 858.
(I) The easterly 20 feet of Marshall Street from the
northerly right of way line of Dunklin Street
to a point 198. 75 feet north thereof.
(J) The easterly 20 feet of Marshall Street between the
southwest corner of Lot 20 of the Subdivision of
Inlots 633, 748, 749 and 851, as of record in Plat
Book 3, at Page 6, Cole County Recorder' s Office ,
and the southerly right of way line of Elm Street.
(K) That part of Marshall Street lying between a point
350 feet north of the northerly right of way line of
Dunklin Street and the southerly right of way line of
the Rex Whitton Expressway (U.S. Highways 50 & 63) .
(L) That part of the east-west alley between Dunklin Street
and Elm Street that is bounded on the north by Inlots
844, 845 and 846 and on the south by Inlots 848, 849
and 850.
(M) That part of Ashley Street extending from the westerly
right of way line of Lafayette Street to a point that
is 147.06 feet east of the easterly right of way line
of Maple Street.
(N) All of an. eight (8) foot north-south alley in Inlot
857 lying between the northerly :ixte' o£7Inl9t18s7
and a point 110 feet southerly thereof.
(0) Missouri Street from the southerly right of way line
of Dunklin Street to the northerly right of way line
of Atchison Street.
(P) Marshall Street from the southerly line of Ashley Street
(as shown located at the northeast corner of Lot 13 of
Brown ' s Subdivision of Outlot 14, as per plat of record
in Plat Book 1, at Page 63, Cole County Recorder' s Office)
to a point that is 226. 75 feet south thereof.
Section 2. The City of Jefferson, Missouri does hereby reserve
the following easements in some of the vacated areas described
in Section 1 above:
(A) In the land described in Section 1 (A) above, an
easement over the easterly ten (10) feet of the vacated
area for the maintenance and repair of an existing sewer.
(K) In the land described in Section 1 (K) above, an easement
over the easterly twenty (20) feet of the vacated area
for the maintenance and repair of sanitary sewer, public
telephone and public power lines.
(M) In the land described in Section 1 (M) above, an easement
over the twenty four (24) width of the vacated area for
the maintenance and repair of existing storm sewer, public
telephone, electric and gas and water facilities.
Section 3. The statutory right of reversion in the owners of
the abutting property in said vacated rights of way, as is
provided by the laws of Missouri, is hereby fully confirmed,

subject to the easements reserved in Section 2 hereinabove, and
the Mayor and Clerk of the City are hereby authorized and directed
to execute any instrument, fdr and in behalf of the City, that
may be required to confirm in the abutting property owners their
reversionary rights in the vacated areas.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
