AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE BY THE CITY OF A QUIT CLAIM DEED TO VARIOUS TRACTS OF LAND FOR STREET RIGHT OF WAY PURPOSES EXECUTED BY THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Mayor of the City of Jefferson, Missouri is hereby authorized to accept, for and in behalf of the City, a Quit Claim. Deed to various tracts of land for Street Right of Way Purposes executed by the Hosuing Authority of the .City of Jefferson, Missouri, Section 2. Said Quit Claim Deed shall read in words and figures as follows: i SPECIFICATIONS (Cont.) WTH Standards as amended to date: J A-325 for Quenched and Tempered Steel Bolts A-307 for Steel Machine Bolts and Nuts ASA B.I-49 for Determining Tensile Stress Area of Threaded Ends of Rods. The rigid frames shall be of tapered sections considere4 as hinged at the base with field bolted tension-type splices at each haunch and at the ridge. The purlins shall be considered as continuous beams lapping each other at each interior support. The girts 'shall be considered as simple beams supported at each rigid frame and/or columns. Door and window framed openings shall be designed to replace,• structurally, -the sidewall panels and/or framing they displace. I D. DESIGN LOADS I fter contracts are awarded and/or sale of the building is consummated, omplete structural analyses shall be submitted by the metal building manu- facturer to the Owner or his Agent. i 1. The roof system shall be designed for a live load of thirty (30) pounds per square foot. 2. The wind load on the structure shall be fifteen (15) pounds per square foot velocity pressure, proportioned and applied as horizontal and uplift forces as recommended by Metal Building Manufacturers Association "Design Practices Manual", dated 1959. E. MATERIAL AND WORKMANSHIP 1. All material shall be completely fabricated and prepared for ship-- ment knocked down including any necessary crating or bundling. All parts of building are to be accurately made and true to dimension so that in erection of same, all parts will easily fit together. 2. All foundation anchor bolts shall be of black ASTM A-36 steel, un- painted and of proper size to adequately resist all applicable. design loads at base of columns, frames and walls. They shall be positioned by 'the foundation contractor according to the dimensions and locations shown on the anchor bolt layout, as furnished by the successful bidder. All high strength bolts shall be black unpainted steel and shall conform to the tentative specifications for steel machine bolts and nuts and tap bolts ASTM Designation h-325 of current issue. -2- SPECIFICATIONS (Cont.) All other bolts, nuts and tap bolts shall be in accordance with tentative specification ASTM Designation A-307 of current issue and shall be electro-galvanized conforming to ASTM Designation A-164 of current issue. In addition, a chromate conversion treat- ment shall be applied over the protective zinc coating. All sheet metal screws and/or self-tapping screws shall be of Class #410 stainless steel conforming to Federal Specification QQ-S-763c. 3. All structural members shall be either hot-rolled structural shapes, cold-formed shapes, or built-up shapes of welded plate construction. Material for all structural members 1/4" and thicker shall be hot- rolled steel meeting the physical and chemical requirements of ASTM Designation A-529 of current issue, thoroughly cleaned and given one (1) shop coat of paint. Material for all structural members leas than 1/4" thick shall be steel conforming to the mechanical or physical properties of not less than Grade A (37,000 psi yield) per ASTM Designation A-446 of current issue, either zinc-coated (ordered wt. of 1.25 oz. ) per ASTM A-525 or A-446 of current issue or, if uncoated, thoroughly cleaned and given one (1) coat of shop paint. All brace rods shall be of uncoated steel conforming to ASTM Designation A-36. Threads shall be rolled or cut. Nuts shall be semi-finished hex head. Turnbuckles, if required, shall be standard. All rods shall be given one (1) shop coat of paint. All structural components of uncoated steel, except anchor bolts and fasteners, shall be given a shop coat of iron-oxide primer. 4. Standard Roof Covering, carrying Underwriters Laboratory Rating Class #30, shall be 16" wide non-embossed flush faced panels of not less than 24 U.S . gage aluminum-coated steel with not less than 1-1/2" deep interlocking ribs . The panels shall be applied with the ribs upstanding (flush face resting on the purlins) and parallel to the roof slope. If end laps are required, they shall be staggered per panel according to the manufacturers instructions and not less than 6" in length. The roof covering shall be securely fastened to each support by self-tapping screws provided with a metal-backed neoprene washer; two (2) fasteners per panel per support at the ridge and eave; three (3) fasteners per panel per support at the roof splice, if required; and one (1) fastener per panel at each remaining intermediate support. All interlocking ribs shall be crimped together according to the manufacturers instructions, immediately after securing in place. -3- SPECIFICATIONS (Cont.) S. Roof Sealinq and Flashing. All longitudinal interlocking ribs and or lapping corrugations as well as any transverse end laps shall be properly sealed, according to the manufacturers instruc- tions, with a pumpable grade, non-drying sealant. All roof covering shall be properly flashed and/or caulked at the eave, ridge and rake with necessary fascias, ridge covers, etc. 6. Wall Covering shall be galvanized steel with 3" deep inter- locking ribs. The wall panels shall be applied to the structural framing with the interlocking ribs toward the interior of the structure. The interlocking ribs (16" o.c. ) shall be fastened at the base, at eave and/or rake and to each intermediate girt by means of a positive bolt and nut, thus eliminating any thru-wall fastening. Wall panels shall be supplied in continuous lengths from the build- ing' s base to either the eave or rake height with no horizontal joints except over and/or under door and window openings and where a wall splice is required for necessary weather-tight flashing of attached structures. All walls shall be properly flashed and/or caulked at the base, eave and rake. 7. All roof and wall covering, ridge cover, gable flashing, wall cap and fascia shall be of steel having a minimum yield point of 37,000 psi conforming to mechanical properties in accordance with ASTM Designation A-446 Grade B and the protective coating previously specified shall conform to the following specification: Zinc-coated. 1.25 ounce (ordered weight) of zinc in accordance with ASTM Designation A-446 or A-525. F. INSULATION 1-1/2" thick fiberglass blanket insulation shall be furnished and installed on the interior face of all exterior walls and the underside of the roof structure. It shall have 0.004" vinyl facing. Facings will be �ade with a 2" tab to overlap adjacent edges. The insulation shall bd made from long flexible glass fibers intertwined and bonded into a resilient blanket. Moisture absorption shall be less than 1% by weight. The insulation shall be odor free and shall not provide sustenance for vermin, rodents, or insects. -4- SPECIFICATIONS (Cont. ) SKYLIGHT PANELS Furnish and install four (4) skylight panels in the roof of the building. Skylights shall. be equivalent to Alsyni.te No. 800 Duraglaze or Johns- Manville "Corrulux" and shall be guaranteed for 20 years. H. WINDOWS Furnish and install four (4) steel windows, approximately 3 '-0" x 4 '-0" in size. All steel windows shall be commercial projected. Windows shall be complete with cam latches and glazing. They shall be bonderized and shop painted. Windows shall be furnished with framing material and necessary flashing to building sidewalls. I. ENTRANCE DOOR 1. Door leaves shall be 3'-0" x 7 '-0" x 1-3/4" thick, full flush, fabricated from 20 gage galvanized, mill bonderized steel sheets. 2. Door frames shall be heavy gage galvanized steel with reinforced recessed hinge plates. Jamb extensions shall be furnished where required to provide secure attachment to the wall framing. 3. Doors shall be furnished with approved heavy-duty cylindrical lock sets. 4. Each door leaf shall swing from three (3) 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" galvanized steel, interlocking, template butt hinges. 5. Door leaves shall be shop painted with one (1) coat of epoxy base neutral gray primer. Door frames shall be color coated with one (1) coat of gray paint. 6. Door frames shall be equipped with an extruded aluminum door stop having a continuous vinyl insert providing a positive weather seal. 7. The threshold shall be an extruded aluminum shape providing a positive weather seal. 8. Door shall have a glass panel approximately 20" x 20" in size. J. OVERHEAD DOORS . Furnish and install three (3) 10' wide x 12 ' high wood overhead garage doors, each door to have one (1) horizontal glass section (3 panels) . Doors shall include all necessary steel framing and track and be complete with hardware and- locks. SPECIFICATIONS (Cont.) a 1 GUTTERS AND DOWNSPOUTS (OPTIONAL, SHOW AS SEPARATE BID ITEM) Eave gutters shall be 24 gage galvanized steel, box shaped with a cross- sectional area of not less than 29 square inches. The gutter apron shall extend under the roof_ panels to provide positive counter-flashing. The outside face of the gutter shall be supported with 20 gage .galvanized straps to the eave member at a maximum spacing of V-6" . Downspouts shall be 26 gage galvanized steel rectangular shaped with a cross-sectional area of not less than 14 square inches. Downspouts shall have a 45 degree elbow at the bottom and shall be supported by attachment to the wall covering at 101 maximum spacing. L. DRAWINGS f All necessary drawings are to be furnished to the Owner or his Agent including proposal drawings, clearly indicating scope of work, anchor bolt setting plan and erection information for proper assembly of the structure. M. WORK AND MATERIALS TO BE FURNISHED BY OTHERS Property surveys, securing of local permits, clearing of site, excavation and baekfilling, foundations, placing of anchor bolts, paving and concrete work, reinforcing steel for concrete, masonry work, carpentry work or interior finishing, painting except that specified elsewhere, electrical wiring, heating, ventilating and plumbing will be furnished by Owner, . or others under separate contract with Owner. N. GUARANTEES AND CERTIFICATIONS The metal building manufacturer and/or dealer shall submit all applicable guarantees and/or certifications for the product to the Owner or his Agent.' i Specify delivery date in Proposal.
