Home My Public Portal AboutORD07849 1 BILL NO. rI INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEN: STONES DEBO AND RINER ORDINANCE NO. ?9ya AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING ORDINANC NUMBER 7819 OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, ESTABLISHING A CIT TRANSIT AUTHORITY AND PROVIDING FOR THE MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION THEREOF, BY REPEALING SECTION 5 THEREOF RELATING TO EMPLOYMENT PREFERENCES AND SALARIES, AND REENACTING TWO NEW SECTIONS TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION 3 (A) and SECTION 5 (B) RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURU, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Repeal Clause. Section 5 of Ordinance Number 7819 Room of the city relating to the employment preferences and salaries of employees of the city transit authority be, and the same is hereby, repealed. Section 2. New Provisions. There are hereby enacted two new provisions relating to the employment preferences and salaries of employees of the city transit authority which shall be known as Section 5 (A) and Section 5 (B) of Ordinance Number 7819, which shall read in words and figures as follows: "Section 5 (A) . Employees and Employment Preferences. Since the city has no previous experience in the operation of a city transit system, it is hereby declared the policy of the city that the employees of the Jefferson City Bus Lines, Inc. shall be given preference in the employment of all employees necessary to be hired in the operation and maintenance of the city transit system. Section 5 (B) . Compensation of Employees.
