RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET, COUlqTY OF MIDDLESEX,
NEW JERSEY, AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION OF TIME FOR PAYbIENT OF
MUNICIPAL TAXES WITHOUT INTEREST TO AUGUST 14, 1998.
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret was scheduled to mail out
municipal tax bills by June 15, 1998, to all property owners,
and
WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey's adoption of certain
programs resulted in a delay in the mailing of the tax bills,
and,
WHEREAS, the delay of the mailing of the municipal tax bills
will result in the imposition of interest payments if an
extension of time for the payment of the bills is not granted
to the taxpayers of the Borough of Carteret.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of
-- the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, New Jersey, as
follows:
1. That the Mayor and Council hereby authorize the extension
of time for payment of the municipal tax bills to August 14,
1998.
2. In the event that the tax bills are not paid by a
taxpayer on August 14, 1998, then interest shall be
retroactive to the August 1, 1998 due date.
3. That the Borough Clerk shall forward certified copies of
this resolution to the following:
A. Director
Division of Local Government Services
Department of Community Affairs:
B. Tax Collector.
