ORDINANCE NO. 2
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 7822 OF THE CITY RELATING TO THE LICENSING AND REGULATION OF
MERCHANTS AND OTHER BUSINESSES BY REDEFINING THE TERMS CABINET
MAKER SHOP AND CONTRACTOR OF SUBCONTRACTOR
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Subsection 2 of Section 20.020 of Ordinance No. 7822 is
hereby amended by repealing therein the definitions of cabinet maker shop and
of contractor or subcontractor and substituting in lieu thereof the following
definitions:
Cabinet Maker Shop. - Any place in this city where cabinets or
furniture is made or repaired by others for a consideration or charge, or any
person who installs cabinets in this city when such cabinets have been made
or repaired outside of the city for a consideration or charge.
Contractor or Subcontractor. - Any person who agrees or contracts
with another, for a fee or consideration, to build, construct, remodel, paint,
plaster or paper, or to aid in building, constructing, remodeling, painting,
plastering or papering any building, or any structure, sewer, sidewalk or
street in this city, or any person who, as a subdivider or developer, builds
and sells two or more buildings or structures of any kind in the city within
a period of twelve consecutive months.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage
and approval.
