AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, CREATING THE
OFFICE OF DEPUTY CITY CLERK, AND PRESCRIBING THE METHOD OF
APPOINTMENT, TERM OF OFFICE, QUALIFICATIONS , OATH, BOND, DUTIES
AND COMPENSATION OF THE OFFICE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Deputy City Clerk. The office of Deputy City
Clerk is hereby created and established.
Section 2. Election and Term. It shall be the duty of
the city council at the first regular meeting thereof held
after each election for the election of officers to city
wide offices to elect some suitable and competent person to
the office of deputy city clerk.
Section 3. Qualifications and Term. The person elected
to the office of deputy city clerk shall be a competent
clerical worker and shall be a resident of, and qualified
voter in, the city
Section 4. Oath of Office and Bond. The person elected
to the office of deputy city clerk, before entering upon the
discharge of the duties of that office, shall take the oath
of office and execute the surety bond prescribed by the
ordinances of the city for the office of city clerk.
' Section 5. Duties. The deputy city clerk shall perform
such duties as may be prescribed by the city council or the
city clerk.
Section 6. Compensation. The compensation for the deputy
city clerk, to be paid monthly in twelve equal installments,

Section 7. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take
effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval.
