AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING ORDINANCE
NO. 7461 OF THE CITY (BEING SECTION 450 OF THE REVISED ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, 1956) RELATING TO THE NUMBER AND METHOD OF
APPOINTMENT OF FIRE CAPTAINS AND FIRE LIEUTENANTS IN THE CITY FIRE
DEPARTMENT, AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE SAME
SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 7461 of the City of Jefferson, Missouri,
(being Section 450 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, 1956) be, and the same is hereby repealed.
Section 2. There is hereby enacted a new provision to be known
as Section 450 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, 1956, relating to the number and method of appointment of
fire captains and fire lieutenants in the fire department, which shall
read in words and figures as follows:
"Section 450. Fire Captains and Fire Lieutenants, Number, Appoint-
ment. Seven of the .firemen shall be designated fire captains and
six of the firemen shall be designated fire lieutenants. The fire
captains shall perform all duties assigned to them by the fire
chief. The fire captains and fire lieutenants shall be appointed
by the Fire Department Committee with the approval and consent of
the City Council."
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force as
of June 15, 1967, from and after its passage and approval.
