AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE PARKING
OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THE CITY, PRESCRIBING A PRESUMPTION
IN THE EVENT OF A VIOLATION, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY..
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Parking Vehicles prohibited. The operator of a motor
.vehicle shall not park the same at any place within the described limits
of the following named roadways:
(5) On Jefferson Street between the south city limits line and
a point 100 feet north of the Jefferson Street overpass over
U. S. Highway 54.
(10) On Christy Street between Stadium Boulevard and the south city
limits line.
(15) On Monroe Street between Tanner Bridge Road and a point: 330
feet north of Tanner Bridge Road.
(20) On Tanner Bridge Road between Christy Street and a point 550
feet south of Christy Street.
(25) On Old Route "C" Connection between Jefferson Street and old
Cole County Route "C".
(30) On Stadium Drive between Christy Street and a point 100 feet
west of Jefferson Street.
(35) On Russell Street between Christy Street and a point 100 feet
east of the junction of Russell Street and Dunford Street.
(40) On Swift's Highway between Jefferson Street and a point 150
feet west of Jefferson Street.
(45) On Dix Road between Industrial Drive and Williams .Street.
(50) On the south half of McCarty Street between Brooks Street and
a point 100 feet east of the intersection of McCarty Street
and Clay Street.
(55) On the north side of McCarty Street between a point 150 feet
east of the intersection of McCarty Street with Industrial
Drive and a point 100 feet east of the junction of McCarty
Street with Clay Street.
Section 2. Presumption to apply. In any prosecution for a violation
of any of the provisions of the preceding section, proof that the vehicle
described in the complaint was parked in violation of any of the provisions
of the preceding section, together with proof that the defendant named in
the complaint was at the time of such parking the owner of the vehicle, shall
constitute in evidence a prima facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle

was the person who parked the vehicle at the point where, and for the
time during which, such violation occurred.
Section 3. Penalty. Any person violating any of the provisions
of Section 1 of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than $100.00, or be
imprisoned in jail for not more than 90 days, or be punished by both such
fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and
be in force from and after its passage and approval.
