ORDINANCE N0. 2232
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE OPERATION
OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THE CITY AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR
VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Right of Way. The operator of a motor vehicle moving in
a southerly direction on the exit ramp extending south from U. S. Highway
54 to the intermediate level traffic loop of the tri-level interchange of
Highways 50, 54 and 63, if intending to turn right to enter the access ramp
extending westerly to U. S. Highway 50 from the same traffic loop of said
'1 interchange, shall yield the right of way to any other motor vehicle imme-
diately before entering the access ramp extending westerly to U. S. Highway
50.
Section 2. Right of Way_. The operator of a motor vehicle moving in
a northerly direction on U. S. Highway 54 on the exit ramp extending north
from U. S. Highway 54 to the intermediate level traffic loop of the tri-level
interchange of U. S. Highways 50, 54 and 63, if intending to turn right to
enter the access ramp extending easterly to U. S. Highway 50 and 63 from the
same traffic loop of said interchange, shall yield the right of way to any
other motor vehicle immediately before entering the access ramp extending
easterly to U. S. Highways 50 and 63.
Section 3. Right of Way. The operator of a motor .vehicle moving in
an easterly direction on the access road extending in an easterly direction
from the intermediate level traffic loop of the tri-level interchange of
U. S. Highways 50, 54 and 63 to U. S. Highway 50 and 63 shall yield the
right of way to any other motor vehicle immediately before entering U. S.
Highway 50 and 63.
Section 4. Right of Way. The operator of a motor vehicle moving in
a westerly direction on the exit ramp leading from U. S. Highway 54 to
Jefferson Street, if intending to turn right to proceed north on Jefferson
Street, shall yield the right of way to any other motor vehicle immediately
before entering Jefferson Street.
Section 5. Right of Way. The operator of a motor vehicle moving in
an easterly direction on the exit ramp leading from U. S. Highway 54 to
Christy Street, if intending to turn right to proceed south on Christy
Street, shall yield the right of way to any other motor vehicle immediately
before entering Christy Street.
Section 6. Penalty. Any person who violates any of the provisions
of Section 1 through 5 of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be
punished by a fine of not more than $100.00, or by imprisonment in-jail for
not more than 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 7. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and approval.
