ORDINANCE NO. 7-232
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, 'MISSOURI, REGULATING THE OPERATION
OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON ROADWAYS WITHIN THE CITY AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR
VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. One way Streets. The operator of a motor vehicle shall
operate the same, within the limits specified on the following named high-
ways and roadways, only in the direction.hereinafter stated:
(5) On the Madison Street exit road, between its intersection
with U. S. Highway 54 and a point 800 feet north thereof
- - - in a northerly direction only.
(10) On the Madison Street entrance to U. S. Highway 54, be-
tween its intersection with U. S. Highway 54 and a point
1100 feet north thereof - - - in a southerly direction
only.
(15) On the intermediate level traffic loop of the tri-level
interchange of U. S. Highways 50, 54 and 63 --- in a
counter clockwise direction only.
(20) On the exit ramp leading into Jefferson Street for south-
bound traffic on U. S. Highway 54, - - - in a westerly
direction only.
(25) On the access ramp for traffic on Jefferson Street leading
into U. S. Highway 54 - - - in a southeasterly direction
only.
(30) On the access ramp leading into U. S. Highway 54 from
Christy Street - - - in a northwesterly direction only.
(35) On the exit ramp from U. S. Highway 54 into Christy Street
- - - in an easterly direction only.
(40) On the access road to U. S. Highway 50, lying adjacent to
and north of said highway and extending from Dix Road to
said highway - - - in a westerly direction only.
(45) On the exit road to Dix Road from U. S. Highway 50, lying
adjacent to and south of said highway, - - - in an easterly
direction only.
(50) On the exit road to Dix Road from U. S. Highway 50, lying
adjacent to and north of said highway, - - - in a westerly
direction only.
(55) On the access road to U. S. Highway 50, lying adjacent to
and south of said highway and extending from Dix Road to
said highway - - - in an easterly direction only.
(60) On the exit ramp for westbound traffic on U. S. Highway 50
leading to the intermediate level traffic loop of the t,:ri-
level interchange of U. S. Highways 50, 54 and 63 - - in
a northwesterly direction only.
j (65) On the access ramp, extending in a northerly direction from the
j intermediate level traffic loop of the tri-level interchange of
U. S. Highways 50, 54 and 63, to U. S. Highways 54 and 63---
in a northerly direction only.
(70) On the exit ramp for southbound traffic On U. S. Highways 54 and
63 leading to the intermediate level traffic loop of the tri-level
interchange of U. S. Highway 50, 54 and 63 ---in a southerly
direction only.
(75) On the access ramp, extending in a westerly direction from the
intermediate level traffic loop of the tri-level inLe:rchange of
U. S. Highways 50, 54 and 63, to U. S. Highway 50---in a westerly
direction only.
(80) On the exit ramp for eastbound traffic on U. S. Highway 50 leading
to the intermediate level traffic loop of the tri-level interchange of
U. S. Highways 50, 54 and 63 --- in an easterly direction only.
(85) On the access ramp, extending in a southerly direction from the
intermediate level traffic loop of the tri-level interchange of U. S.
Highways 50, 54 and 63, to U. S. Highway 54--- in a southerly
direction only.
(90) On the exit ramp for northbound traffic on U. S. Highway 54 leading
to the intermediate level traffic loop of the tri-level interchange of
U. S. Highway 50, 54 and 63--- in a northerly direction only.
(95) On the access ramp, extending in an easterly direction from the
intermediate level traffic loop of the tri-level interchange of U. S.
Highways 50, 54 and 63, to U. S. Highways 50 and 63---in an easterly
direction only.
(100) On the north half of the Whitton Expressway (U. S. Highway 50) between
its intersections with the east city limits and the west city limits---
in a westerly direction only.
(105) On the south half of the Whitton Expressway (U. S. Highway 50) between
its intersections with the west city limits and the east city limits---
in an easterly direction only.
(110) On the west half of U. S. Highway 54 from a point 100 feet south of the
south end of the Missouri River Bridge to the south city limits---in a
southerly direction only.
(115) On the east half of U. S. Highway 54 from the south city limits to a point
100 feet south of the south end of the Missouri River Bridge---in a
northerly direction only.
(120) Clay Street shall be designated a one-way street from West McCarty
Street to West High Street in a northerly direction only.
Section 2. Penalty. Any person who violates any of the provisions of Section 1
of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not
more than $100. OQ or by imprisonment in jail for not more than 90 days, or by
both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage and approval.
