ORDINANCE NO. _��__
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI VACATING AND
DISCONTINUING AS A PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE PART OF A PUBLIC ALLEY
IN SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND THE
CLERK OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE ALL WRITTEN INSTRUMENTS REQUIRED
TO CONFIRM IN THE OWNERS OF THE ADJACENT LAND THEIR REVERSIONARY
RIGHTS IN THE VACATED RIGHT OF WAY.
WHEREAS, it has been shown to the City Council of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, that the owner of all land that
abuts on that portion of a twenty (20) foot public alley that
is described hereinafter in Section 1 of this ordinance has
petitioned the City Council to discontinue as a right of way
for a public thoroughfare and vacate said alley, and
WHEREAS, it has further bean shown that it would not
inconvenience the public_ or the citizens of the city to
discontinue as a right of way for a public thoroughfare and
vacate that portion of said twenty (20) feet alley described
in Section 1 of this ordinance, now therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri hereby declares it necessary, reasonable and proper
Alk to discontinue as a right of way for a public thoroughfare
and forever vacate the following described portion of a public
alley in said city:
"The easterly one hundred and twenty five (125)
feet .of a public alley extending along the south
line of Lots Nos . 1 through 6 in Block 6 of
Washington Park Addition in the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, as per plat of record in Plat Book No.
0- at Page 1- Cole County Recorder' s Office. "
Section 2. The statutory right of reversion in the owner of
the abuting property to that portion of the public alley above
described, as provided by the laws of the State of Missouri, is
hereby expressly confirmed, and the Mayor and Clerk of the city
are hereby authorized and directed to execute all written instr-
uments required to confirm in the abuting property owner its
reversionary rights in the land hereinabove described and hereby
vacated.
