ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, ESTABLISHING THE OFFICE
OF DEPUTY CITY CLERK, PROVIDING THE NUMBER OF DEPUTY CITY CLERKS AND THE
METHOD OF APPOINTMENT, THEIR QUALIFICATIONS, TERM OF OFFICE AND DUTIES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby established the position of deputy city
clerk.
Section 2. The Mayor of the city, by and with the consent of a
majority of the elected members to the city council, shall be authorized to
appoint two persons to the positions of deputy city clerk.
Section 3. The term of office of the deputy city clerks shall co-
incide with that of the city clerk.
Section 4. The deputy city clerk shall be at least 21 years of age,
a resident of the city and mentally and physically able to carry out the
duties of their office.
Section 5. The deputy city clerks shall assist and aid the city
clerk in the performance of the duties of the city clerk and in the absence
of the city clerk shall perform all duties of the city clerk.
Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
