HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD07960 BILL NO._�__•, , INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMAN: t ORDINANCE NO., Z?k_ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI VACATING AND DISCONTINUING AS A PUBLIC THOROUGHFARE PART OF A PUBLIC ALLEY IN SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND THE CLERK OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE ALL WRITTEN INSTRUMENTS REQUIRED TO CONFIRM IN THE OWNERS OF SHE ADJACENT LAND THEIR REVERSIONARY RIGHTS IN THE VACATED RIGHT OF WAY. WHEREAS, it has been shown to the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, that the owner of all land that abuts on a public alley that is described hereinafter in Section 1 of this ordinance has petitioned the City Council to discontinue as a right of way for a public thoroughfare and vacate said alley, and - WHEREAS, it has further been shown that it would not inconvenience V the public or the citizens of the city to discontinue as a right of way for a public thoroughfare and vacate the public alley described in Section 1 of this ordinance, now therefore: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri hereby declares it necessary,reasonable and proper to discontinue as a right of way for a public thoroughfare and forever vacate the following described portion of a public alley in said city: "All of the north-south alley lying between and bounded by Inlot No. 690 on the east and Inlot No. 689 on the VIP* west in the City of Jefferson, Missouri". Section 2. The statutory right of reversion in the owner of the abuting property to that portion of the public alley above described, as provided by the laws of the State of Missouri, is hereby expressly can- firmed, and the Mayor and Clerk of the city are hereby authorized and directed to execute all written instruments required to confirm in the abuting property owner its reversionary rights in the land hereinabove described and hereby vacated.
