AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE PARKING
OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THIS CITY, PRESCRIBING A PRESUMPTION
AND PROVIDING A PENALTY,. AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 7741 RELATING TO
THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section l. ' Parking Prohibited. The operator of a vehicle shall not
park the same at any place on the south half of McCarty Street lying be-
tween two points located 300 feet and 350 feet west of the west curb of
Bolivar Street.
Section 2. Presumption to apply. In any prosecution for a violation
of ,Section 1, proof that .the vehicle described in the complaint was parked
in violation of .Section 1, together with proof that the defendant named
in the complaint was.at the time of such parking the owner of the vehicle,
shall constitute in evidence a prima facie presumption that the owner of
the .vehicle was the person who parked the vehicle at the point where, and
for the time during which, such violation occurred.
Section 3.' :Penalty. . A.person violating this ordinance shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined.
not more than $100.00 or be imprisoned in jail for not more than 90 days,
or .be..puaished both by such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4.. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and approval.
