AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING ORDIN-
ANCE NUMBER 7951 OF THE CITY REGULATING THE PARKING OF MOTOR
VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THE CITY, PRESCRIBING A PRESUMPTION,
AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, AND ENACTING A
NEW ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINEl7• BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance Number 7951 of the City of Jefferson, Missouri
regulating the parking of motor vehicles on the roadways of the city, pre-
scribing a presumption, and providing a penalty for violation be, and the same
Is hereby repealed.
Section 2. Parking Vehicles Prohibited. The operator of a motor vehicle
shall not park the same at any point on Jefferson Street between its intersection
with Capitol Avenue and its intersection with Commercial Avenue at any time
between the hours of 7:30 a.m.. and 8:30 a.m. or between the hours of 4:30
p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on any day of the week excluding Saturdays, Sundays and
legal holidays.
Section 3. Parking Vehicles Prohibited. The operator of a motor vehicle
shall not park the same at any point on the south half of Capitol Avenue between
points located 200 feet west of the west curb of Jefferson Street and 230 feet
east of the east.curb of Jefferson Street at any time between the hours of 7:30
a.m. and 8:3 0 a.m. or between the hours of 4:3 0 p.m. and 5:3 0 p.m. on any
day of the week excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays.
Section 4. Parking Vehicles Prohibited. The operator of a motor venicle
shall not park the same at any point on the north half of Capitol Avenue east,
and within 160 feet of the east curb of Jefferson Street at any time between the
hours of 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. or between the hours of 4:3 0 p.m. and 5:30
p.m. on any day of the week excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays.

Section S. Presumption to Apply. In any prosecution for a violation
of any provision of Section 2, 3 or 4 of this ordinance, proof that the vehicle
described in the complaint was parked in violation of any provision of Section
2, 3 or 4 hereof, together with proof that the defendant named in the complaint
was at the time of such parking the owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in
evidence a prima facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the
person who parked the vehicle at the point where, and at the time during
which, such violation occurred.
Section 6. Penalty. Any person violating the terms of Sections 2, 3
or 4 of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined not more than $100.00 or be imprisoned not
more than 90 days or incur both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 7. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage and approval.
