AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REGULATING THE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAYS OF THE CITY, PRESCRIBING
A PRESUMPTION, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, AND
REPEALING SUBSECTION 500 OF SECTION 1.530 OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 7344,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Parking Vehicles Prohibited. The operator.-of a motor
vehicle shall not park the same at any point on the east half of Moreau Drive
between Atchison Street and Hillcrest Street.
Section 2. Presumption to Apply. In any prosecution for a violation
of any provision of Section 1 hereof, proof that the vehicle described in the
complaint was parked in violation of any of the provisions of Section 1, to-
gether with proof that the defendant named in the complaint was at the time
of such parking the owner of the vehicle, shall constitute in evidence a prima
facie presumption that the owner of the vehicle was the person who parked the
vehicle at the point where, and at the time during which, such violation occurred.
Section 3. Pe2alty. Any person violating any of the provisions of
Section 1 hereof shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof shall be fined not more than $100.00 or be imprisoned not more than
90 days or incur both such fine and imprisonment.
Section 4. -Le2ol Clause. Subsection (500) of Section 1.530 of
Ordinance Number 7344 of the city prohibiting the parking of a motor vehicle on
the west half of Moreau Drive between its intersections with Atchison Street
and Hillcrest Street be, and it is hereby, repealed.
Section 5 Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
