ORDINANCE NO. 7�ASt'
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING PARAGRAPH 4 OF
SECTION 504. OF ARTICLE V OF ORDINANCE NO. 5880 OF THE CITY, KNOWN AS THE
ZONING ORDINANCE, BY STRIKING THE WORDS AND FIGURES "TEN THOUSAND (10,000)
SQUARE FEET" AND SUBSTITUTING IN LIEU THEREOF THE WORDS AND FIGURES "EIGHT
THOUSAND (8,000) SQUARE FEET".
Whereas, upon the recommendation of the City Building Commissioner,
the City Planning and Zoning Commission, after hearing, study and considera-
tion, recommended that the square foot area requirements of a lot located
in any District ".A-1" Single Family Residence District be reduced from
10,000 square feet to 8,000 square feet, and
Whereas, the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, by and
through its City Clerk has caused a notice of hearing on said recommenda-
tion to be published three consecutive days in a newspaper of general cir-
culation within the city of Jefferson, Missouri, the last day of publication
having been more than fifteen days preceding the date of the hearing by the
City Council, wherein such notice of rezoning all interested parties .were
requested to appear before the City Council at the time and place specified
therein for the purpose of attending a public hearing and expressing their
views in support ,of or in opposition to the recommendation of the Planning
and Zoning Commission, and
Whereas, the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, has con-
ducted said hearing and heard the views of all persons expressing an interest
in the above mentioned recommendation of the City Planning and Zoning Com-
mission, now therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY -THE CITY -COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Paragraph 4 of Section 504 of Article V of Ordinance No.
5880 of the City, known as the Zoning Ordinance, relating to the square foot
area requirements of a lot in any District "A-1" Single Family Residence
District, is hereby amended by striking therefrom the words and figures
"ten thousand (100000) square feet" and substituting in lieu thereof the
words and figures "eight thousand (8,000) square feet".
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and approval.
