AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, CHANGING, AMENDING AND
MODIFYING THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS INCORPORATED
INTO ORDINANCE NUMBER 5880, BY REZONING CURTAIN SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED LAND
FROM A DISTRICT "A-1" SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE CLASSIFICATION TO A .DISTRICT
"G" COMMERCIAL CLASSIFICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, was
petitioned in writing to rezone land hereinafter described from its present
District "A-1" Classification to a District "G" Classification, and
WHEREAS, the City Council did refer the petition to the City Planning
and Zoning Commission for its consideration, study and recommendation, and
WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission, after hearing,
study and consideration, by its report to the City Council recommended
that the land hereinafter described should be rezoned as petitioned only
for the purpose of using .the premises for a United States Post Office
Building, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, by
and through its City Clerk has caused a notice of hearing for the purpose
of rezoning to be published three consecutive days in a newspaper of
general circulation within the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the last day
of publication having been more than fifteen days preceding the date of
the hearing by the City Council, wherein such notice of rezoning all in-
terested parties were requested to appear before the City Council at the
time and place specified therein for the purpose of attending a public
hearing and expressing their views in support of or in opposition to the
recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, has
conducted said hearing and heard .the views of all persons expressing an
interest in the rezoning of the land hereinafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED .BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The zoning map of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, as
incurporated into Ordinance 5880, as amended, of said city, is hereby
changed, amended and modified to reflect the rezoning of the following
described property from its present District "A-1" Single Family Residence

Classification to a District "G" Commercial Classification only for the
purpose of permitting the premises to be used for a United States Post
Office, and the following-described property is, and it is hereby, rezoned
accordingly:
"Part of the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Sec. 24, Twp. 44
North, Range 3.2 .West, in Cole County, Missouri, more
particularly described as:
Beginning at the intersection of the southerly line
of -Ellis Boulevard with the east line of a tract of
land conveyed to R. Sheldon Gentry by a deed of record
in.Book .153, at page 681, Cole County Recorder's Office;
thence south parallel with the east line of a quarter-
quarter section, 335 feet; thence west parallel with the
north line of said quarter-quarter section, 422 feet;
thence north parallel to the east line of said quarter-
quarter section, 215 feet; thence west along the south
line of said quarter-quarter section, 20 feet; thence
north on a direct line, 310 feet, to a point on the
southerly line of said Ellis Boulevard which is 440
feet westerly of the point of beginning (if measured
along the said southerly line of Ellis Boulevard);
thence easterly along the said southerly line of Ellis
Boulevard 440 feet to the point of beginning".
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage and approval.
