ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, CREATING THE OFFICE OF
SPECIAL DEPUTY CITY CLERK, PROVIDING THE NUMBER THEREOF, DEFINING THE
METHOD OF THEIR SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT, THEIR COMPENSATION, DUTIES,
OATH AND TERM OF OFFICE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section There is hereby established the office of special deputy
city clerk. '. special deputy city clerks shall be appointed by the
Mayor to the ofice after their selection as herein provided.
Section 2. Special .<:zputy city clerks shall take the oath of office
prescribed by ordinance for the City Clerk, and the oath shall be adminis-
tered by the Police Judge of the city.
Section 3. Special deputy city clerks shall serve without compen-
sation. Their term of office shall begin as soon as they take the oath of
office and their term .of office shall expire at 6:00 p.m. on Monday,
March 11, 1968.
Section 4. Special deputy city clerks shall perform the following
duties:
(a) Receive applications for absentee ballots to be
voted in the primary election held in the city on
March 1%, 1968.
(b) Deliver such applications to the city clerk so
that the names of all applicants may be posted as
prescribed by law.
(c) Receive official absentee ballots, envelopes and
instructions prescribed by law from the city
clerk and deliver the same in person to applicants
for execution in the manner provided by law.
(d) . Upon execution of the absentee ballot, to render
such aid as may be requested by the absentee
ballot voter in mailing the ballot to the city
clerk. n e-l
Section 5. The Chairman of the ib OC Je A T City Committee
shall .select _ persons to serve as de,p,u.ty special city clerks for the

purposes mentioned in this ordinance. �— shall furnish the names of
the persons .s6lected to the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February
21, 1968.
Section 6. Any persons appointed as a special deputy city clerk
shall be a resident of the City of Jefferson, Missouri
Section 7. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage and approval.
