SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS – REGULAR
MEETING OF JANUARY 20, 2021
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission
(Commission) actions from their regular meeting of January 20, 2021.
BACKGROUND:
On January 20, 2021, the Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the January 20, 2021, Commission regular
meeting:
1.ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner - Haddad, Tarin, Vance, Vice-Chairman Baroldi,
Chairman Rosso
Absent: Commissioner - None
Excused: Commissioner - None
2.PRESENTATIONS - None
3.CONSENT CALENDAR
The Commission approved the regular minutes of the November 18, 2020 meeting
and received and filed the Monthly Report for November and December 2020.

4. UFINISHED BUSINESS
A. COMMITTEE ON AGING UPDATE
The Commission received a verbal update from Director of Parks and
Recreation Matsumoto regarding items agendized for the upcoming
Committee on Aging meeting of January 26, 2021. Agendized items include
a report of actions taken during the year of 2020, Senior Master Plan review,
and forecasted action goals for 2021.
B. PRIMROSE PARK UPDATE
The Commission received a verbal update from Director of Parks and
Recreation Matsumoto regarding projected timelines for the development of
Primrose Park including notice of bid deadline, award of contract,
groundbreaking, construction, and opening of Primrose Park.
5. NEW BUSINESS
A. PARKS & RECREATION WINTER PROGRAMMING
The Commission received a verbal update from Director of Parks and
Recreation Matsumoto regarding the winter programs including Craft Club,
Virtual Winter Day Camp, Healthy TC, Family Trivia Night and Holiday Cheer.
6. COMMUNICATIONS – None
7. UPDATE FROM PARKS & RECREATION DIRECTOR
A. The Commission received the Parks and Recreation Director’s Report for the
month of January 2021.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Reviewing the Commission actions of January 20, 2021, furthers the City’s Strategic Goal
of Citizen Education and Communication.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-21 City Budget.
