SUBJECT: PLANN ING COMMISSION ACTIONS - MEETING OF FEBRUARY 23,
2021
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Planning Commission
(Commission) actions from their meeting of February 23, 2021.
BACKGROUND:
On February 23, 2021, the Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
The following is a summary of actions taken at the February 23, 2021 meeting:
1.ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner - Guan, Lee, O’Leary, Cordes, Haddad
Absent: Commissioner - None
Excused: Commissioner - None
2.CONSENT CALENDAR
The Commission approved the minutes from their regular meeting of November
10, 2020.

3. DISCUSSION ITEM:
GENERAL PLAN ANNUAL REPORT 2020
The Commission voted to recommend that the City Council approve the General
Plan Annual Report.

6. COMMUNICATIONS – None
7. UPDATE FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Community Development Director Reimers announced that the City’s Building
Inspector, Bill Reed, passed away in January. He also stated that there will be a
meeting tomorrow, Thursday, February 24 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss the Housing
Element, people can send their comments or questions to planning@templecity.us.
The meeting will be held virtually and it will be posted online. The Citizen’s
Academy will also be on Thursday. He also mentioned that the City has taken 187
online applications for planning and 732 permits and plan checks since the
pandemic began. He gave an update on the Community Development Block Grant
funds. He stated 71 out of 73 temporary residential rental assistance grants were
funded.
8. ADJOURNMENT
The Commission meeting was adjourned at 8:18 p.m. in memory of Building
Inspector Bill Reed.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Reviewing the Commission actions of February 23, 2021, furthers the City’s Strategic
Goals of Citizen Education and Communication.
FISCAL IMPACT :
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year 2020-21 City Budget.
