ORDINANCE NO. 61- 27
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY ESTAB -•
LISHING APPOINTMENT PROCEDURE FOR CITY COMMIS-
SIONS AND BOARDS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Temple City Municipal Code is hereby
amended by adding Section 2715 as follows:
"2715. Appointment Procedure For Commissions and
Boards. The following procedure sfiaTl be followed in the appoint
mend of individuals to City Commissions and Boards:
"a. The City Council shall determine the number
of positions to be filled.
"b. Individual Councilmen may, after securing
the acquiesence of any individual concerned, submit names for
consideration in a public meeting of the City Council or at an
executive session thereof.
"c. The City Council shall hold an executive
session at which time all individuals proposed shall be discussed
"d. The Mayor, after said executive session,
above referenced, shall make the appointment of the persons for
the positions to be filled, which appointments shall be subject
to a majority approval of the City Council at a regular or ad-
journed meeting of the City Council."
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 23rd day of January, 1961, by
the following called vote:
AYES: Councilmen - Buchan, Dickason, Merritt, Tyrell
& Fitzjohn
NOES: Councilmen -None
ABSENT: Councilmen -None
