An Ordinance Repealint Ordinances Numbers 3434, 4515 4531, 49580
4964 0 '4977 5093 515 5219" 5554 and 6063 of this City which
relate to t he speeds Of motor vehicles on the streets, alleys
public highways and roadways of this city,, and provide a pena ty
for the violation thereof, and enacting a new ordinance regulat-
ing the speed of motor vehicles on the streets alleys and public
highways and roadways of this city and providing a penalt y for
any person operating a motor vhiecle in excess the designated
speeds.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI,, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinances number 3434, 45159 4531, 4948t 496410
4977 5093, 5154s 5219, 5554, and 6063 of this city relating to
speeds of motor vehicles on the streets, alleyst highways and
other roadways of this City, and providing a penalty for the
violation thereof, be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful for the operator of a motor
vehicle to operate the same on the streets, alleys, highways or
roadways of this city at a rate of speed in excess of that here-
after specifically designated:
A. Thirty (30) miles per hour on all streets, alleys,
highways and roadways of this city, expept as here-
inafter designated.
(1) Forty (40) miles per hour on Highway 50 between
that point where Highway 50 is intersected by
the west line of the City limits to a point five
hundred feet west of the west line of Heisinger
Drive.
Forty (40) miles per hour on Highway 54 between
that point where Highway 54 is intersected by
the south line of the City limits to a point where
Highway 54 is intersected by Old Highway 54.
(2) Twenty (20) miles per hour in the congested dist-
rict. The congested district is defined as
follows: From the north line of Capitol Avenue
to the south line of McCarty Street and from the
east line of Marshall Street to the west line of
Mulberry Street; from the east line of Madison
Street on Dunklin Street to the west line of
Jefferson Street.
(3 ) Twenty (20) Miles per hour on:
(a) Bolivar Street between McCarty Street and St.
Maryfs Boulevard.
(b) Bald Hill Road between Clark Avenue and Card-
inal Street.
(c) Cardinal Street between Dunklin Street and the
Bald Hill Road.
(d) Dunklin Street between Broadway Street ands'.
Highway 50.
(e) Forest Hill between Main Street and Meadow
Lane .
(f) McCarty Street between Broadway Street and
Walnut Street
(g) Moreland Avenue between Moreau. Drive and
Eminence Drive.
