THE CITY CLERK, AND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE SAME
SUBJECT. 11
11BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,

MISSOURI, AS DOLLOWS:

Section 1. Section 3 of Ordinance Number 2742 (also known
as Section 288 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson.
,! of 1941)pertaining to the oath of office and bond of the City
; Clerk, be and the same is hereby repealed. I!
�j Section 2. His oath of office and bond. Before entering
upon his duties he shall take and subscribe an oath or affirma-
' tion before bbme court of record in the County or iustice of the
11peace in the township, or police judge, that he possesses all of !
" the qualifications prescribed in his office by law; that he will I�
' support the Constitution of the United States and the State of I)
!! issouri , the provisions of all laws of thisstate affecting cities `
,1 of the third class, and the ordinances of the City of Jefferson
and that he will faithfully demean himself in office within
I
, fifteen days after his election and before entering upon the dis- !
,! charge of his duties, the City Clerk shall execute to the City of
Jefferson a bond in the sum of five thousand dollars, with good
nand sufficient sureties, conditioned that he will faithfully
jldischarge all of the duties of his office as required by the laws
llof Missouri governing cities of the third class and the Ordinances
I1of the City of Jefferson, and that he will promptly pay over all
;; monies coming into his possession that belong to the City, at the
l; time and in the manner provided by laws. Said bond, with the Mayor's
; approval endorsed thereon, shall be filed in the office of the
! City treasurer, who shall preserve and safely keep the . same.
Section 3. 'his ordinance shall be in force and take effect
! from and after its passage and approval.
