AFD ENACTING A FFW ORDINANCE PrRTATNING TO THE SAME SUBOECT.
BE IT ORDA 'NED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 7EFFERSON, �
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. ordinances Numbers 6217, including Appendix
A and B. 5112 and Sections 8, 9 and 10 of Ordinance Nurr.ber.
3781 of the City of Jefferson, pertaining to the rates of carr-
iage by taxicabsq dividing the city into zones, and providing 1�
for t!re manner of increasing the rate of carriage for taxicabs,
be and the sare are hereby repealed.

i Section 2. Rates which may be charged by taxi. cabs. On
and after the effective date of this ordinance, it shall be un-
lawful for any individual, firm or corporation engaged in the I
business of operating a taxicab witrin the limits of this city
to char)ae a rate of carriage for services so rendered in the
said transpottation of persons and/or property for hire by
taxicab at a greater amount than the charges xet forth herein,
which said charges arehereby deemed reasonable and proper, to-wit:

Section 3. `ones. That for the purpose of this ordinance,
and for the purpose of establishing reasonable and proper rates
of carriage of persons and/or property by taxicab to any and all �I
parts of said city of Jefferson, M4 ssouri, the said City of Jeff-ii
arson , Missouri, is hereby divided into nine (9) zones , and the !�
boundaries and limits of said zones is as follows:

Zone 1. Boundariest Beginning at a point where the east
" line. oft Jackson Street intersects the Missouri
hiver; thence south on Jackson to the south line
of Dunklin Street; thence west on Dunklin Street
to the west line of Vialnut Street• thence north
on Walnut Street to the Missouri diver; thence
to the point of beginning.
Zone 2. toundaries: Beginning at a point where the north-
erly extension of the aast line of Locust Street
intersects the Missouri River; thence south on
Locust Street to the south line of Dunklin Street;
thence on a direct line to the southeast corner
of the intersection of Lafayette and Franklin
Streets; thence west along the south line of
Franklin Street to the east line of Jefferson S
Street. thence north on Jefferscn Street to the

JSection 3. How rates may be increased. No person, firm or �)
corporation engaged in the business of onoratin a taxicab

shall charge a rate of fare in excess of thatpermitted by
this ordinance withciit making an application to the city �I
council for an increase in said rate of fare and presenting (i
to the council, if required, substantial evidence of tt)e

the increase in the rate of fare :sought by the applicant, or
Rny part thereof, or deny the same, and the cecisi,�r_ of the
