all the things needed for. the Town Hall and get prices, Coun-
cilman Logan seconded and the motion passed
It was decided that the official opening of the Town Hall
and having open house be postponed until the February meeting.

The regular meeting of Town Council was held to -day at 3 :00 p.m.,
in the Council Chamber, and was attended by Mayor Righton, who
presided, and Councilmen May, Young, Lovell,Logan, Slotin, Haar,
Town Attorney Dutton. Also Mrs. J.E.McMillan, Mrs. Eugenia Willis,
and Mrs. Cecil Carter.
Mrs. McMillan and Mrs. Willis were a committee appearing .before
Council in the interest of the Public Library, Irs. McM. stated
that the Library wants the Town to take over the co- sponsorship
of the Library or else it will have to close, the committee stated
that it was very desirous that the Town sponsor the Library and
they were in hopes that it would do so, After which the commitee
was excused. The Mayor Stated that he was amazed at the wonder-
P.:1 work that the Library is doing and feels that it .should be
continued. Councilman Haar moved that the Town sponar the .Library
and pay to the Treasurer of the Library, for the use of the Library,
the sum of 110.00 per month, for January, February, March, April,
1910, _Councilman Lovell seconded and the motion pissed.
Councilman Lovell moved that the Mayor be authorized to appoint
the Library Board, Councilman Young seconded and the motion passed.

whiskey license to Clifton J.Nunnery. Councilman Young moved that
petition be granted, Councilman Haar seconded and the motion
passed.
Mayor B.ighton informed Council that he felt that the Town was
not getting the proper co- operation from the WPA in finishing
the beach protection project, and suggested 'contacting D.C.
Nlchols., State Engineer, to a. certain why, The sense of the
Board was that the work was9Pogressing as fast as it should
and that the Mayor should get in touch with the proper parties
and call .a special meeting of Council. The Mayor stated that he
would handle it.

Councilman. Slotin moved that the rules of Council be amended,
as referring to Section 7, - that no purchase shall.be. made
unless approved by the Chairman of the Committee of the Depart-
ment requesting the purchase, and in turn by the Chairman or
Acting Chairman of the Finance Committee. All bills incurred
during the current month must be approved by Council and pay-
ment made by the 10th of the following month. Councilman Lovell
seconded and the motion passed.
Councilman Logan moved that Mrs. Marion Meeks be employed'to
assist Mr. Buckley in the Town office, at a sabry of 410.00
per week for two weeks. Councilman Young seconded and the
motion passed.
The "Committee on Assessments stated that it was not ready to
report.
Councilman Young moved that the old Town office, located at
Butler Avenue and 15th ,street, and the pergola, running along
the eastern side of Butler Avenue from 15th to Atlantic Avenue,
b;e dismantled and that a committee be appointed to act as to
where the proposed new structures to be erected from the sal-
vage material, would be placed. Councilman Lovell seconded and
the motion passed. The Mayor appointed the following on this
committee; Lovell, Young, Logan.
Councilman May moved that a new street light be installed in
the vicinity of Moore Avenue and Naylor Avenue. Councilman
Haar seconded and the motion passed.
Bids were opened in connection with furnishing floor covering
and laying it in the Town Hall, the low bidder being'the I.C.
Helmly Furn.Co., Councilman Young moved that the I.C.Helmly
Furniture Co., be awarded the contract, they being the lowest
bicders. Councilman Lovell and the Motion passed.
Councilman Haar moved tat the floor covering be purchased
with aborder and that a felt base be used at a cost of $435.00
Councilman Lovell seconded and the motion passed.

A special meeting of Council was held to -day at 12 :00 noon,
in the Council Chamber, in the City Hall in Savannah, and
was .ttefded by Mayor Rightln, who presided; and Councilmen
Logan, Lovell, Slotin, Young, May, Haar, also by Major H.U.
Wallace, E.H.Abrahams, A.B.Lovett, W.J.Bremer and several
others.
Mayor Righton stated that the meeting for the purpose of
ascertaining what the WPA are doing in regard to the work on
the beach protection, Major Wallace stated that the work was
