Section 2. Upon the execution of this agreement, receipt and release
by the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Jefferson., Missouri., on the one
band, and Emmett Schmitz and Vera Schmutzt on the other hand, the City Clerk
of the City of Jefferson, Missouri., shall draw a check in the amount of Five
Hundred $500-00 Dollars payable to Emmett Sclvmitz and Vera Schmutz and the
E. F. Kieselback Construction Caupany of Jefferson City, Missouri.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.

AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF CLERK OF THE POLICE COURT., PROVIDING FOR
THE METHOD OF APPOINTMENT, THE TERM OF SAID OFFICE., THE QUALIFICATIONS AND
BOND OF THE PERSON TO BE APP0INT0,, AND DEFINING THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF SAID
OFFICE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,, AS MISSOURI, AS
ii FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Office of Clerk of the Police Court. The office of Clerk
or the Police Court is hereby created.
Section 2. Appointment. The Clerk of the Police Court shall be
appointed by the Mayor by and with the consent and approval of a majority of
the elected members of the City Council.
Section 3. Term of Office. The Clerk of the Police Court shall serve
fl for a period of one year from and after his appointment or until his successor
is appointed and shall have qualified. In the event of the death,, resignation.,
removal from office or disability of the person so appointed) the Mayor., by and
with the consent and approval of a moJority of -the members elected to the city
council., may make an interim appointment, and said appointee shall serve the
balance of the term of his predecessor in office.
Section 4. Bond. The Clerk of the Police Court shall post a bond
in the sum of Five Thousand ($5000) Dollars, said bond to be approved by the
Mayor and conditioned upon the faithful performance of his duties. Said bonds
shall meet all other requirements of the ordinance on bonds of city employees.
Section 5. Pa4ers and Duties. The Clerk of the Police Court shall
obtain and acquire from all police officer issuing traffic tickets or arrest
slips to law violators one copy of the original ticket or arrest slip. Each
day the Clerk shall collect all fines and costs that may be adjudged against
law violator by the Police Judge., whether a formal complaint was executed or
not., and the costs, if any, assessed against any law violator, together with the
other two copies of the traffic ticImt or arrest slip issued by the arresting
officer.
