Adopt Resolution No. 21-5527 confirming appointment of Lance Baroldi, Joanne Rosso and Cynthia Vance to the Parks and Recreation Commission with terms ending June 30, 2023 (Attachment “A”); 2. Adopt Resolution No. 21-5528 confirming appointment of John Cordes, Beverly Guan and Jeffrey Lee to the Planning Commission with terms ending June 30, 2023 (Attachment “B”); and 3. Adopt Resolution No. 21-5529 confirming appointment of Joel Catalan, Michael Stoll and Jeffrey Xu to the Transportation and Public Safety Commission with terms ending June 30, 2023 (Attachment “C”). BACKGROUND: 1. On March 16, 2021, City Council established the City Commissioner Recruitment Ad Hoc Committee and appointed Councilmember Man and Councilmember Vizcarra to the Ad Hoc Committee. 2. In March, 2021, staff reached out and confirmed with current Commissioners with term expiring on June 30, 2021 their interest to serve another two year term. This information was shared with the Ad Hoc Committee. 3. On April 6, 2021, the City Commissioner Recruitment Ad Hoc Committee reported out to City Council their recommendation to reappoint incumbent city commissioners with City Council June 1, 2021 Page 2 of 2 term expiring on June 30, 2021 for another two year term (i.e., Parks and Recreation Commission: Lance Baroldi, Joanne Rosso, Cynthia Vance; Planning Commission: John Cordes, Beverly Guan, Jeffrey Lee; and Transportation and Public Safety: Joel Catalan, Michael Stoll, Jeffrey Xu). 4. On April 6, 2021, City Council directed staff to add City Commissioner Recruitment to an upcoming Council meeting for further discussion. 5. On April 20, 2021, City Council reappointed incumbent City commissioners with terms expiring on June 30, 2021 for another two year term. ANALYSIS: Pursuant to Section 1103 of the City Charter, members of all commissions and boards of the City shall be appointed by the City Council and shall serve at the pleasure of said City Council. City Council is requested to adopt the resolutions to affirm the appointments to the Parks and Recreation, Planning, and Transportation and Public Safety commission. City Clerk will make arrangements for all appointees to receive their Oath of Office at an upcoming City Council meeting. Reappointment of the commissioners will ensure that the Commissions will be able to continue with business as usual. CITY STRATEGIC GOALS: Adoption of the resolutions affirming the appointments to City Commissions will promote the City’s Strategic Goal of Good Governance. FISCAL IMPACT: This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-21 City Budget. ATTACHMENTS: A. Resolution No. 21-5527 Appointments to Parks and Recreation Commission B. That Lance Baroldi, Joanne Rosso and Cynthia Vance are hereby appointed to the Parks and Recreation Commission of the City of Temple City. Said term to expire on June 30, 2023. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution. That John Cordes, Beverly Guan and Jeffrey Lee are hereby appointed to the Planning Commission of the City of Temple City. Said term to expire on June 30, 2023. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution. That Joel Catalan, Michael Stoll and Jeffrey Xu are hereby appointed to the Transportation and Public Safety Commission of the City of Temple City. Said term to expire on June 30, 2023. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
