SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS - MEETING OF JUNE 22, 2021
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Planning Commission (Commission)
actions from their meeting of June 22, 2021.
BACKGROUND:
On June 22, 2021, the Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
The following is a summary of actions taken at the June 22, 2021 meeting:
1.ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner - Guan, Lee, O’Leary, Cordes, Haddad
Absent: Commissioner - None
Excused: Commissioner - None
2.CONSENT CALENDAR:
The Commission approved the minutes from their regular meeting of May 11, 2021.

3. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS:
A. PL 21-2818: 9570 LAS TUNAS DRIVE
DESCRIPTION: A conditional use permit for the establishment of an art
studio/tutoring business in the Downtown Core Commercial District.
ACTION: The Commission voted 5-0 to approve file PL 21-2818, and adopted
the resolution finding that the project is exempt from CEQA, subject to the
proposed recommended conditions of approval.
4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS – None
5. NEW BUSINESS:
A. Tandem Parking in the Multi-Family Zones.
Community Development Directors Reimers gave a presentation in regards to
tandem parking in the multi-family zones. The Commission was generally
supportive of increasing the Zoning Code’s allowance for tandem parking and
other flexible parking arrangements such as car lifts. Staff will return at a future
time with additional information and possibly a Zoning Code Amendment.
6. COMMUNICATIONS – None
7. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR’S REPORT:
Community Development Director announced that there may be a virtual meeting
July 20 to discuss the Housing Element and members of the Community are invited.
He also stated that the re-organization for the Planning Commission will be done at
their next regular meeting.
8. ADJOURNMENT:
The Commission meeting was adjourned at 8:47 p.m.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Reviewing the Commission actions of June 22, 2021, furthers the City’s Strategic Goals
of Citizen Education and Communication.
FISCAL IMPACT :
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year 2020-21 City Budget.
