Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict with this ordinance are hereby repealed insofar as they con-
flict.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect
from and after its passage and approval.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1701 OF ARTICLE XVII OF ORDINANCE
NUMBER 5880, THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF .JEFFERSON, MISSOU-
RI, BY ADDING THERETO AN ADDITIONAL SUBPARAGRAPH TO BE KNOWN AS
SUBPARAGRAPH NINETEEN (19 .) WHICH SHALL READ AS FOLLOWS : " 19.
BEAUTY PARLORS AND BARBER SHOPS BUT OIIILY IN "C" AND "D" DISTRICTS.'
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISS-
OURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Whereas, the Planning and Zoning Commission by a written
communication to the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missou-
ri, has advised the Council that it has received many requests for
the rezoning of property within Jefferson City to permit the oper-
ation of beauty parlbrs and barber shops in District "C" and "D'r
Multiple Dwelling Districts from which said businesses are presently
prohibited, and
Whereas, the Planning & Zoning Commission has recommended
the amendment of Section 1701 of Article XVII of Ordinance Number
5880, the Zoning Ordinance, in such manner as to permit the City
Council to allow the operation of beauty parlors and barber shops
in District "B" and "C" Multiple Dwelling Districts by the issuanc
of a special permit, and
Whereas, all interested parties have been notified that the
City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, would hold a public
hearing on the proposed amendment of Ordinance number 5880, the
Zoning Ordinance, as recommended by the Planning & Zoning Commis-
sion, said notice being in a newspaper of general circulation with
Jefferson City more than fifteen days prior to said hearing, and
Whereas, the City Council has conducted such hearing on the
date prescribed in said newspaper publication and has given all
parties an opportunity to be heard upon the question, now therefor c :
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 1701 of Article XVII of Ordinance Numbe
5880 , the Zoning Ordinance, of the City of Jefferson, Missouri,
is hereby amended by adding thereto a new subparagraph to be known
as subparagraph nineteen which shall read and state as follows :
