Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, 1941, and
the revised Statutes of the State of Missouri, 1949, and amendments '
thereto. That the cost of the curb shall be assessed only against
the property in front of which the same is constructed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SIDEWALK OF CEMENTI
CONCRETE MATERIAL, FOUR FEET IN WIDTH, 3.0 FEET BACK FROM FACE OF
CURB., ON THE NORTH SIDE OF SWIFT'S HIGHWAY BETWEEN PAMELA AND MYRTLE,
STREETS, AND ABUTTING 503 FEET ON SWIFT'S HIGHWAY OWNED BY MISSION-
ARIES OF LASALETTE COXP.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That a sidewalk of cement concrete material,
Four feet in width, 3.0 feet back from face of curb, on the north
side of Swift's Highway, between Pamela and Myrtle Streets , and
abutting 503 feet on Swift's Highway owned by Missionaries of La-
Salette Corp. be constructed and built within thirty days from the
service of a copy of this ordinance on the owner of the property
hereinabove described.
Section 2 . Within two days after the passage of this
ordinance, the City Clerk shall place in the hands of the City Mar-
shal a certified copy of this ordinance, and said City Marshal
shall serve or cause to be served a copy of this ordinance on the
owner or owners above mentioned, by delivering a copy hereof to sail
owner or owners or by leaving it with some member of his family over
the age of 15 years, making his return on another copy of said ordi -
nance., which copy shall be filed in the office of the City Clerk.
Section 3 . In the event 'the owner or owners above named
fail to construct said sidewalk as above directed, then the City
of Jefferson, under the power and authority given it by its charter
and ordinances, will construct said sidewalk and will issue a speci 11
tax bill against said property for the cost of the construction of
said sidewalk, which said special tax bill will be a lien against
the property above described.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
