AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SIDEWALK OF CEMENT
CONCRETE MATERIAL, FOUR FEET IN WIDTH, 2.8 FEET BACK FROM FACE OF
CURB, ON THE NORTH SIDE OF SWIFT'S HIGHWAY BETWEEN JEFFERSON AND
BROADWAY STREETS AND ABUTTING 71 .55 ON SWIFT' S HIGHWAY AND BEING
BROADWAY STREET OWNED BY CITY OF JEFFERSON, MO.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1. That a sidewalk of cement concrete material,
four feet in width, 2 .8 feet back from face of curb, on the north
side of Swift' s Highway between Jefferson and Broadway Streets, and
abutting 71.55 on Swift's Highway and being Broadway Street, owned
by City of Jefferson, Mo. be constructed and built within thirty
days from the service of a copy of this ordinance on the owner of
the property hereinabove described.
Section 2. Within two days after the passage of this
ordinance, the City Clerk shall place in the hands of the City
Marshal a certified copy of this ordinance, and said City Marshal
shall serve or cause to be served a copy of this ordinance on the
owner or owners above mentioned, by delivering a copy hereof to sal
owner or owners or by leaving it with some member of his family ove
the age of 15 years , making his return on another copy of said ordi-
nance, which copy shall be filed in the office of the City Clerk.

Section 3. In the .vent the owner or owners above am d
fail to construct said sidewalk as above directed, then the City ofl
Jefferson, under the power and authority given it by its charter
and ordinances, will construct said sidewalk and will issue a speci {1
tax bill against said property for the cost of the construction of -1Ii�
said sidewalk, which said special tax bill will be a lien against the
property above described.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval .
