Section 2. Within two days after the passage of this

. owner or owners above mentioned, by delivering a copy hereof to

;, family over the age of 15 years , making his return on another copy
of said ordinance, which copy shall be filed in the office of the
City Clerk.
Section 3. In the event the owner or owners above named
; fail to construct said sidewalk as above directed, then the City of
; Jefferson, under the power and authority given it by its charter
,; and ordinances , will construct_ said sidewalk and will issue a
,! special tax bill against said property for the cost of the construc-
tion of said sidewalk, which said special tax bill will be a lien
against the property above described.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SIDEWALK OF CEMENT
CONCRETE MATERIAL, FOUR FEET IN WIDTH, 3 .5 FEET BACK FROM FACE OF
( CURB, ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF SWIFT' S HIGHWAY BETWEEN CARTER AND MYRTL
iSTKEETS, AND ABUTTING 543 FEET ON SWIFT' S HIGHWAY OWNED BY JOSEPH E
CRITTER, ARCHBISHOP OF ST . LOUIS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS : '
Section 1. That a sidewalk of cement concrete material,
( four feet in width, 3.5 feet back from face of curb, on the south
+ side of Swift' s Highway Street, between Carter and Myrtle Streets ,
sand abutting 543 feet on Swift' s Highway, owned by Joseph E. Ritter
lArchbishop of St. Louis be constructed and built within thirty days
i1 from the service of a copy of this ordinance on the owner of the
1iproperty hereinabove described.
