11AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SIDEWALK OF CEMENT
( CONCRETE MATERIAL, FOUR FEET IN WIDTH, 3.5 FEET BACK FROM FACE OF
CURB, ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF SWIFT'S HIGHWAY STREET, BETWEEN JEFFERSO
AND CARTER STREETS, AND ABUTTING 140 FEET ON SWIFT'S HIGHWAY OWNED
BY JOSEPH E. RITTER, ARCHBISHOP OF ST. LOUIS .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1. That a sidewalk of cement concrete material, (
four feet in width, 3.5 feet back from face of curb, on the south i
side of Swift's Highway Street,between Jefferson and Carter Streets
and abutting 140 feet on Swift's Highway, owned by Joseph E. Ritter,l
Archbishop of St. Louis be constructed and built within thirty days
from the service of a copy of this ordinance on the owner of the
property hereinabove described.
Section 2. Within twi days after the passage of this
ordinance, the city clerk shall place in the hands of the City Mar-
shal a certified copy of this ordinance, and said City Marshal
shall serve or cause to be served a copy of this ordinance on the
owner or owners above mentioned, by delivering a copy hereof to
said owner or owners or by leaving it with some member of his family ,
over the age of 15 years, making his return on another copy of said
ordinance, which copy shall be filed in the office of the City Cler .
Section 3. In the event the owner or owners above named
fail to construct said sidewalk as above directed, then the City of
Jefferson, under the power and authority given it by its charter
and ordinances, will construct said sidewalk and will issue a special
tax bill against said property for the cost of the construction of
said sidewalk, which said special tax bill will be a lien against
the property above described.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.

OWNED BY JUNE R. ROSE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS: I`
Section 1. That a sidewalk of cement concrete material,
four feet in width, 3.5 feet back from face of curb, on the south
side of Swift' s Highway, between Jefferson and Carter Streets, and
abutting 102 feet 1/2 inches on Swift' s Highway, owned by June R.
Rose be constructed and built within thirty days from the service
of a c=opy of this ordinance on the owner of the property hereinabovil
described. j!
