CALL TO ORDER Mayor Yu called the City Council Regular Meeting to order at 7:31 p.m. telephonically. 2.ROLL CALL PRESENT:Councilmember – Chavez, Man, Vizcarra, Sternquist, Yu ABSENT: Councilmember - None ALSO PRESENT:City Manager Cook, City Attorney Murphy, City Clerk Kuo, Deputy City Clerk Nunez, Administrative Services Director Paragas, Attorney Suttorp 3.PUBLIC COMMENT – None 4.CLOSED SESSION A.Purpose:Conference with Labor Negotiator Authority:Government Code Section 54957.6 Agency Representative: City Attorney and City Manager Employee Group:Temple City Employee Association, Unrepresented General, Part-Time Employees City Council recessed to closed session at 7:33 p.m. and reconvened with all members present at 9:08 p.m. CLOSED SESSION STATEMENT City Attorney Murphy reported that City Council met in Closed Session on Closed Session Item A “Conference with Labor Negotiator”. There is no reportable action. 5. NEW BUSINESS A.DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION TO ALLOW CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS TO BE HELD REMOTELY, CONSISTENT WITH ASSEMBLY BILL 361 The City Council is asked to consider the safety and procedural issues involved in continuing to hold remote meetings pursuant to AB 361. AGENDA ITEM 7.A-2. City Council Minutes September 29, 2021 Page 2 of 2 City Attorney Murphy gave a summary of the staff report. City Manager Cook gave a brief overview of the current method of conducting public meetings. City Council made comments and asked questions regarding Assembly Bill 361. Mayor Yu opened public comments. City Clerk Kuo read email public comment from Ousama Nimri, Temple City resident, in favor of resuming Council meetings in person. Hearing no further request to speak, Mayor Yu closed public comment. City Council made final comments. Councilmember Vizcarra made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 21-5558 to authorize the continued use of such technology for meetings for a period of 30 days. Seconded by Councilmember Man and approved by the following votes: AYES: Councilmember – Chavez, Man, Vizcarra, Sternquist, Yu NOES: Councilmember – None ABSENT: Councilmember – None ABSTAINED: Councilmember – None 6.
