BACKGROUND: On September 28, 2021, the Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting. ANALYSIS: The following is a summary of actions taken at the September 28, 2021 meeting: 1.ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioner - Haddad, Lee, O’Leary, Guan, Cordes Absent: Commissioner - None Excused: Commissioner - None 2.CONSENT CALENDAR: The Commission approved the minutes from their regular meeting of August 24, 2021 with a minor correction. AGENDA ITEM 7.B. City Council October 19, 2021 Page 2 of 2 3. PUBLIC HEARING ITEM: A. PL 21-2960: 9657 LAS TUNAS DRIVE DESCRIPTION: A request for a conditional use permit to establish a business offering performing arts classes in the Downtown Core (DC) commercial district. The applicant is requesting to teach acting, dance, and music classes for up to 30 youths, at one time. ACTION: The Commission voted 5-0 to approve file PL 21-2960, and adopted the resolution finding that the project is exempt from CEQA, subject to the proposed recommended conditions of approval. 4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS – None 5. COMMUNICATIONS – None 6. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR’S REPORT: Community Development Director Reimers announced that the City Council will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, September 29 to discuss whether the city will continue holding online meetings or switch to in-person meetings. On October 5, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. there will be a joint meeting session with the City Council to discuss SB-9. 7. ADJOURNMENT: The Commission meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m. CITY STRATEGIC GOALS: Reviewing the Commission actions of September 28, 2021, furthers the City’s Strategic Goals of Citizen Education and Communication. FISCAL IMPACT : This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year 2021-22 City Budget.
