HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD06462 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI'T'Y OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI , AS FOLLOWS Section 1. The rank of Captain in the Police Department is hereby estab- lished. There shall be two Captains. The City Marshall shall appoint two memberd of the police department to be designated Police Captains , and said Police Captains shall perform such duties as may be prescribed by the City Marshall. S ection 2 The r ank of Sergeant in the Police Department is hereby estab- lished. There shall be four sergeants over and above the Desk Sergeant and r OTraffic Sergeant as presently prescribed by other ordinances. The City Marshall shall appoint four members of the Police Department to be designated as Police Sergeants, and said Police Sergeants shall perform such duties as may be prescribed by the City Marshall. Section 3. The rank of Corporal in the Police Department is hereby estab- lished. There '-shall be two corporals. The City Marshall shall appoint two embers of the police department to be designated as Police Corporals, and said Police Corporals shall perform such duties as may be prescribed by the City Marshall. Section 4. The Captains, Sergeants and Corporals in the Police Department shall receive the following compensation for their work in the performance of their official duties: (a) Police Captains shall receive the sum of Three Hundred and Fifteen ($315.00) Dollars per month. (b) Police Sergeants, including the Desk Sergeant and the Traffic : Sergeant shall rec eive the sum of Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars per month. (c) Police Corporals shall receive the sum of Two Hundred and Ninety ($290.00) Dollars per month. Section 5. This ordinance shAll be in force and effect from and after its passage and approval. Passed:----- May 6, 1957 Approved: May 13, 1957 President of the Council Mayor ORDINANCE NO. 6462 N ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF CITY STENOGRAPHER, DEFINING THE APPOINTMENT AND METHOD THEREOF, THE QUALIFICATIONS OF ANY APPOINTEE, THE DUTIES OF SAID OFFICE, AND THE SALARY THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MIS90URI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. City Stenographer. The office of City Stenographer is hereby created. Section 2. Appointment. The office of City Stenographer shall be filled by the appointment of the Mayor, by and with the consent of a majority of the elected members of the city council. Section 3. Qualifications. The City Stenographer shall be capable of taking dictation and shorthand and shall be an efficient and accomplished typist. Section 4. Duties. The City Stenographer shall perform all secretarial services as prescribed by the City Marshall within the police department, and sha I1 perform all other secretarial services as needed and requested by the City officials and city appointive employees. Section 5. The City Stenographer shall receive the sum of Two Hundred and Forty ($240.00) Dollars per month as salary and compensation for her duties. Section 6.
