HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD06468 22 ORDINANCE NO. 6468 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 5701 WHICH PROHIBITED THE l PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES AT CERTAIN PLACES DURING CERTAIN HOURS, IAND ENACTING A NEW ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT TO BE � KNOWN AS ORDINANCE NUMBER 5791. j BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON CITY, (MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Ordinance Number 5701 which prohibited the parking of motor vehicles at certain places during certain hours, be and the same is hereby repealed. Section 2. A new ordinance pertaining to the same subject to be known as Ordinance Number 5701 shall read as follows: Ordinance No. 5701 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES AT CERTAIN PLACES DURING CERTAIN HOURS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. It is hereby declared unlawful for any person to park a motor vehicle, carriage, wagon or other vehicle in the first three parking meter stalls lyipg immediately north of the intersection of High and Madison Streets and on the west side of Madison Street during the hours of 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Mondays through Thursdays and during the hours of 9:00 A.M. to' 7:00 P.M. on Fridays of each week. There shall be placed at the proper places the necessary signs notifying the public of no parking in the above designated spaces during the designated hours. Said signs shall also have printed on the bottom of the same the =mber of this ordinance. I Section 2. It is hereby declared unlawful for any person during any hour of the da_ y and at any time to park a motor vehicle, carriage, wagon or other vehicle on the north side of High Street beginning atithe west end of the space reserved for a bus stop on the northwesterly corner of the intersection of High and Madison streets and extending westerly a distance of twenty feet. The Street Commissioner is hereby author- ized and directed to remove the parking meter presently located at that space. There shall be put at a proper place a .sign notifyingithe public of no parking in the above desig- nated space. Such sign shall also have printed on the bottom of the same the number of this ordinance. Section 3. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor. Section 4. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage and approval and upon the placement of the proper signs. Section 3.
