Taccording to the law for more than seven (7 ) consecutive insertions)
in the Post-Tribune, a daily newspaper, printed and published in the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, and a majority of the resident owners 11
of property along said section of Howard Street liable for the cost6
of said improvement, and who own a majority of the fron feet on said
Howard Street intended to be improved, have not filed with the City;
Clerk a protest against said contemplated improvement.
SECTION 2. That the said road of Howard Street from U.S. Highway j
No. 50 to St. Mary's Boulevard in accordance with the plans and +
I specifications submitted by the City Engineer and filed in the
ioffice of the City Clerk, and that the total cost of the work
aforesaid shall be charged and levied as a special assessment 11
against the real estate abutting and fronting on said contemplated
improvement, and special tax bills shall be issued therefor, as I
provided in the City Charter, and in Sections 826, 827, 828, and
829 of Chapter 10, of the Revised Ordinances of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, 1956, and of the Revised Statutes of the State
of Missouri, 1949, and amendments thereto.
SECTION 3. The City Engineer is hereby instructed to advertise for
bids for this improvement.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage and approval. !j

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF, JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI, A
CONTRACT PERTAINING TO THE PAINTING OF THE CITY HALL BUILDING.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON CITY, !
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Jefferson
City, Missouri, are hereby authorized and directed to execute for
and on behalf of the City of Jefferson City, Missouri, a contract
for the painting of the City Hall Building, said contract in words
and figures as follows;

i WITNESSETH, that for and in consideration of the acceptance of �I
Ithe Contractor's bid and award of this contract to said Contractor
by the Owner, and in further consideration of the agreements of
the parties herein contained, to be well and truly observed and
faithfully kept by them, and each of them, it is agreed by these
parties as follows, to-wit; +!
The Contractor agrees to do and furnish, at his own expense,
all labor, equipment, materials and supervision that is necessary t '
perform all work involved in painting the second and third floor
of the City Hall Building according to the specifications upon
which his bid dated the day of 1957, was based.
Contractor agrees thaeFie is fully iinnformed of all work necess-
ary and:all-'conditions which might be encountered which may affect
the necessary work under this contract, and that his information
was secured by personal investigation, and not by any estimates or
representations of the Owner, and that he will make no claim or

All work to be performed by the Contractor shall be done under
the direct supervision of the Building Commissioner of the Owner.
