if any, against the lots, tracts or parcels of land located within
said benefit district; and said assessments, if any to be paid by
the owners of the lots, tracts or parcels of land within said benefit
district shall be made in one installment and be due and payable asisoon
as said assessments have been finally determined. Failure of the
owners of the lots, tracts or parcels of land within the egid benef t
district to pay the assessments when due shall cause said assessmen s
for said benefits to be a lien upon the lands assessed and such
liens shall continue until the assessments against the lots, tracts
or parcels of land have been fully paid or a sale made thereunder.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from
and after its passage and approval.

AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCES NUMBERS 6435, SECTION 4 OF
ORDINANCE NUMBER 6461, SECTION 5 OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 6462,
ORDINANCE NUMBER 60632 SECTION 0 .)OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 64642 AND
SECTION 205.5 OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 64652 PERTAINING TO THE SALARIES
AND COMPENSATION OF ALL ELECTIVE OFFICIALS, APPOINTIVE OFFICIALS AN
EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI, AND ENACTING A
INEW ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON CITY,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Ordinance Number 6435, Section 4 of Ordinance
Number 6461, Section 5 of Ordinance Number 6462, Ordinance Number
6463, Section 6 or Ordinance Number 6464, and Section 205.5 of
Ordinance Number 6465, of the City of Jefferson City, Missouri,
pertaining to the salaries and compensation of all elective offi-
cials, appointive officials and employees of, the City of Jefferson ,
City, Missouri, be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 2. Compensation of Elective Officials. Hereafter
the total compensation to be paid to the elective officials of the
City of Jefferson City, Missouri, for the performance of their
duties prescribed by law, shall be as follows:
(a) The Mayor shall receive the sum of Two Hundred $200.00)
Dollars per month. In addition to the salary mentioned above, the
Mayor shall receive the sum of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars per month as
an expense account for his office.
(b) The City Marshall shall receive the sum of Three Hundred
and Seventy-five ($375.00) Dollars per month.
The City Marshall shall receive the sum of Fifty (450.00)
Dollars per month as an expense account.
(c) The City Attorney shall receive the sum of Three Hundred ald
Twenty Five ($325.00) Dollars per month.
(d) The Police Judge shall receive the sum of Two Hundred and
Eighty ($280.00) Dollars per month.
(e) The City Treasurer shall receive the sum of One Hundred i
($100.00) Dollars per month.
(f) The City Assessor shall receive .fees equal to two-thirds
(2/3) of those paid to the county assessor for the merchants! and
manufacturers ' lists returned and for making assessments and returnel
of lists on personal property.
(g) The City Collector shall receive as compensation on the
annual tax collected the following;
On the first Forty Thousand ($40,000.00) Dollars
collected, four (47.) per cent.
On the second Forty Thousand ($40,000.00) Dollars
collected, three (3%) per cent.
On all sums collected over and above the sum of
Eighty Thousand ($80,000.00) Dollars, including de-
linquent taxes, he shall receive two (2%) per cent.
In addition to the above, he shall receive on all
delinquent taxes the sum of four (47.) per cent,
which shall be added to the amount owed by the de-
linquent taxpayer and shall be paid by the person
paying the taxes.
(h) Members of the City Council shall receive the sum of
Seventy-Five ($75.00) Dollars per month.
In addition to the amount mentioned above, each member of the
City Council shall be entitled to the sum of Twenty-Five ($25.00)
Dollars per month as expense money to cover the cost of their auto-
mobiles in attending meetings.
The above amounts shall be the total compensation of the afore
said officials for the performance of their official duties and
is in lieu of all salaries and allowances now being received by
them' for the same.
Section 3. Compensation of Appointive Officials and Employees
Hereafter the total compensation to be paid to the appointive
officials and employees of the City of Jefferson City, Missouri, fox
the performance of their duties as prescribed by law shall be paid
as follows:
(a) The City Clerk shall receive the sum of Three Hundred and
Ninety ($390.00) Dollars per month.
.(b) The Assistant City Clerk shall receive the sum of Two
Hundred and Sixty-Five ($265.00) Dollars per month for the first
three months that she is employed by the city, and thereafter shall
receive the sum of Two Hundred and Eighty ($280.00) per month.
(c) The City Engineer shall receive the sum of Four Hundred
($400.00) Dollars per month.
(d) The Street Commissioner shall receive the sum of Three
Hundred and Seventy-Five ($375.00) Per month and the use of a city
owned automobile in the performance of his duties.
(e) The City Physician shall receive the sum of Two Hundred
and Fifty ($250.00) Dollars per month.
(f) The Chief Inspector of the City of Jefferson City, and
the ex-officio Building Commissioner and Custodian of the City
Hall shall receive the sum of Three Hundred and Fifty ($350.00)
Dollars per month.
(g) The Electrical Inspector shall receive the sum of Two Hun-
dred and Eighty ($280.00) Dollars per month.
(h) The Plumbing Inspector shall receive the sum of Two Hundred
and Eighty ($280.00) Dollars per month.
(i). The License Inspector shall receive the sum of Fifty ($50010)
Dollars per month.
(j) The Milk Inspector shall receive the sum of Three Hundred
and Twenty-Five ($325.00) Dollars per month.
(k) The Health Officer shall receive the sum of Two Hundred an
Seventy-Five ($275.00) Dollars per month.
(1) The Airport Maintenance Man shall receive the sum of One
Hundred and Fifty ($150.00) Dollars per month.
(m) The Janitor of the City Hall shall receive the sum of Two
Hundred and Thirty-Five ($235.00) Dollars per month.
(n) The Humane Officer shall receive the sum of Two Hundred an
Sixty-Five ($265.00) Dollars per month and the use of a city owned
automobile in the performance of his duties.
(6) The City Weighmaster shall receive the sum of One Hundred
and Fifty ($150.00) Dollars per monk..,,.
(p) The caretaker of the City Dump shall receive the sum of
Thirty ($30.00) Dollars per month.
(q) The G neral Custodian of the City Cemetery shall receive tie
sum of T enty-Five ($25.00) Dollars per month.
(r) The Welfare Worker shall receive the sum of Fifty ($50.00)
Dollars per month.
(s) The City Stenographer shall receive the sum of Two Hundred
and Forty ($240.00) per month.
(f) The Clerk of the Police Court shall receive the sum of One
Hundred and Eighty ($180.00) Dollars per month.
(u) The Fire Chief shall receive the sum of Three Hundred and
Fifty ($350.00) Dollars per month.
(v) The Assistant Fire Chiefs shall receive the sum of Three
Hundred and Fifteen ($315.00) Dollars each per month.
(w) The Fire Inspector -shall receive the sum of Twenty-Five
($25.00) Dollars per month.
(x) The Fire Captains shall each receive the sum of Three
Hundred ($300.00) Dollars per month.
(y) The Regular Riremen shall receive the sum of Two Hundred
and Sixty-Five ($265.00) Dollars each per month for the first three
months of employment by the City of Jefferson City, and thereafter
shall receive the sum of Two Hundred and Eighty ($280,,00) Dollars
each per month.
(z) The Police Captains in the Police Department shall each
receive the sum of Three Hundred and Fifteen ($315.00) Dollars per
month.
(aa) The Police Sergeants, including the Desk Sergeant, and
Traffic Sergeant, shall each receive the sum of Three Hundred
($300.00) Dollars per month.
(bb) The Police Corporals shall each receive the sum of Two
Hundred and Ninety ($290.00) Dollars per month.
(cc) The Regular Patrolmen and Traffic Officers in the Police
Department shall receive the sum of Two Hundred and Sixty-Five
