Resolution No. 1-8 5
• WHEREAS, the Texas Municipal League and the Dallas Crime Commission each have
recommended a law and order program be considered by the 1985 session of the Texas
Legislature, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Richland Hills has reviewed the re-
commended program and agrees that adoption of said program will be in the best in-
terest of our citizens,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF RI~HLAND HILLS, TEXAS, that
The City Council urges the Texas Legislative members tp support and adopt the follow-
ing provisions as part of a law and order program:
1. Continuation of wiretapping capability for the Department of Public Safety
in felony narcotics cases.
2. Continuation of the triplicate prescription requirement for certain drugs
to be filed with the Department of Public Safety.
3. Informing juries of the effect of parole when they are considering punishment
during a criminal trial.
4. Reducing the use of technical defects to reverse criminal convictions.
and, that a copy of this resolution be sent to all Tarrant County State Senators and
Representatives.

HALTOM RICHLAND AREA
The Haltom Richland Area Sesquicentennial Committee wishes to submit the
following projects to celebrate Texas 150 years of history and heritage.
1. March 2 - TEXAS INDEPENDENCE DAY. Will be proclaimed by the
cities with ringing of bells throughout the area in churches.
2. TEXAS HERITAGE HALL WEEK - Special promotion for visitation and
public participation to tour the Heritage Hall at Tarrant County
Junior College containing collection of local early day history,
using Texas Sesquicentennial logo in the promotion.
3. BIRDVILLE U. S. A. and TEXAS PAGEANT-A community wide involvement
of citizens protraying the history of BIRDVILLE, the First County
• Seat of Tarrant County, attracting 10,000 plus spectators, and
using Texas Sesquicentennial logo in the promotion.
4. PERMANENT PLANTINGS - A unified plan of outdoor planting, preferable
Red Bud trees, in residential, industrial and commercial areas to
memorialize Texas' 150th Birthday in living plants.
5. July 2 - TEXAS WAGON TRAIN - The Texas Wagon Train overnight stay
enroute to its final destination to Fort Worth. Community and Committee
to proclaim it TEXAS WAGON TRAIN DAY, with special activities planned for
the courageous group who will begin their trek on January 2nd, from
Sulphur Springs, Texas.
6. To assist in the preparation and coordination of any separate
Sesquicentennial events planned by the cities of HALTOM CITY, NORTH
RICHLAND HILLS, RICHLAND HILLS and WATAUGA, the BIRDVILLE INDEPENDEDIT
SCHOOL DISTRICT, and civic/youth groups.
